View Full Version : Strip Club, Strip tease, Strip dance et al
Loads of young men and old folks alike have plenty of interest in women who are wearing almost nothing and gyrating their hips, booty and boobs to music for some cash. I personally feel this is some sort of unhealthy habit as I really do not see the attraction in a woman dancing in a sexual way while am sitting down and parting with my hard earned money between her boobies. No. I am not Gay, but I really do not see the attraction.
While it is not my thing, it appears to be a booming business all over the UK and the America - they call them Titties Bar or something.
I dunno if anyone here will admit to paying for a lap dance or stripe tease and if they will care to explain the attraction. You cannot touch these ladies and it looks like a waste of money in my opinion.

I have :)
I have had a lapdance, it was about 2 years ago when I went away for a Stag do weekend. About 20 of us went into this club and it didn't even costs me anything, some friends paid for it (and I wasn't even the groom). You keep your hands on the seat and the whole thing lasted about 10 mins, it was an experience, I have never been back to another one since nor do I have an intention to go again, but I can see the fun in it and I don't see it do anyone any harm.
Mundo. Please elaborate more on the "fun" that you see in it?
While I am not trying to discourage anyone about strip clubs. I think they tend to do loads of damage to a relationship if one of the parties in a relationship makes it a regular habit. Also apart from the dance services they offer, there are other packages that is available as well apparently. lol.
@Nat. What was the attraction? Will you do it again?
Elrazur - I don't get it either :)
From what I have heard most are somewhat seedy, the ladies aren't exactly anything special and you fork out a tonne for a drink, let alone an "erotic dance". I've also heard that the dances are somewhat pants too! You might as well go to a circus and see some sexy ladies do some super cool dancing moves in not a lot! Much more entertainment for your monies!
With the dances... what are you supposed to do?! It's not like a bloke can sit there and jack one off (well... depending on what club it is... I know of one particular place where dodgy dealings went on but I suspect that's one in a few). Do guys/girls just sit there and watch?! How much of a muppet must you feel!
*sits there* *lady gyrates infront* *smile*... doooobie doo dooo
Just seems stoopid.
Monies wise too... oh my lordy! I mean... really. If you want to see some boobies, which you can't touch, you might as well buy a porno and save a good few bob! Surely for people who like things like that, it would be better as at least then they could do rudes with the boobies infront of them?!
I really can't see what people see in these places. Surely you'd have more of a laugh out with mates at a pub/bar where drinks don't cost you half your wages?!
Meh.
I have problems with it on a completely different level as well (poor Pickys aware if he stepped into one I, nor the dog, would be home when he got back). I have a muchos hate for them :) Although I don't judge those I know on going. I just... ignore it :p

Had plenty of lap dances in my time :)
The big chains in the UK & US do not allow touching (woman can touch you but not vice versa) but there are plenty of smaller places that do. Having been to quite a few in Eastern Europe I can say that they do allow touching and quite often a whole lot more. The strip club I ended up in recently in Barcelona was basically a brothel so again you could get what you wanted.
The basic appeal is that you can get a woman who is far more attractive than you could pull on a night out to dance / do dirty things to you.
I used to really enjoy going to them but in the last year or so their appeal has worn off and while I'll still happily go to one (normally as part of customer "entertainment") I very rarely have a dance anymore and when I do it's always someone else paying.
GF knows that I go to them as I tell her and she doesn't mind so long as I'm just looking.
@Nat. What was the attraction? Will you do it again?
It actually happened by accident.
My bf at the time lived in newbury, and I used to travel there to stay the weekend.
Saturday evening came, and we were getting ready to go out... I was all dressed and ready, then looked in my case: I had forgotten my shoes. And was wearing trainers.
No where would have let me in with them on, so He said , jokingly "the only place you are going to get in with those is (cant remember the name now).
So I said "ok, lets go there then", expecting him to say no.
He said ok then, so we went.
When he went to the bar, he was asked if he wanted a dance, and he said "no but my girlfriend does" and the man said "oh ok, and sent someone over"
It was fun, and we stayed maybe an hour or so.
I probably would go again, yh.
Some of my female friends go to one in manchester occasionally, and I probably would go with them. In the right company, it is a laugh
:)

/\ that just summed up why I hate strip clubs :p
I'd like to go to see some dancing, perhaps pole dancing and stuff, but purely for the dance aspect rather than anything else. I like looking at ladies ;) and assume Phil does too.
Not sure it would do anything for me in a sexual way though. Which I assume is the point.

The fun is that you get to see pretty girls dancing naked in front of you.
I don't see the harm in it unless the person goes in there regularly rather and it becomes an addiction. It is not that much different than looking at porn on DVD/online.
The fact that they quite often offer other services or the fact that the guys can't touch? ;)
LOL!
You just made me spill a drink on my keyboard :( I must learn to stop looking at forums on my tea breaks!
Used to go to a strip club a fair bit last year, just because it was near the pub we went to and was free entry.
The mostly naked ladies were just a nice bonus.

If that is the real appeal behind it, then it is flawed in my view. Paying money for something like that simple because I cannot pull such "quality" will make me question my abilities and somehow put a dent on my confidence. In other words, it will be a case of these ladies are merely coming to me for the money and will probably wont look at me twice in real life.
With all due respect do you not feel it may put some sort of trust issues between you and her? I mean, if you go what is there to stop you from touching. How would you feel if the table was turned around? You do not have to answer. [I'm trying not to step on people's toes here]:)

I went to a few before they came all trendy and expensive.. I found the whole experience "Laddy" and I know some of you may find this a bit of a shock coming from me, but they just ain't my thing. Sex to me is a very private thing.

Nat in your post, you mentioned that you was expecting him to say "No". Why is that?
I think in some way, Pheebs kinda summed up how a few of us feel about such place.

Because I was actually joking in saying it, and I didnt think at the time it was the sort of place someone would take their GF :)
Take 'em or leave 'em really - times I've been it's not really a 'sexual' experience as in getting your rocks off, but hot naked birds dancing 1ft away from does look bloody good - plus in most of the venues these days it's the punters who are being exploited rather than the girls :p
The simplest way is that there's a line between being a group of people going to just see some naked chicks for a laugh before heading out, and the guy propping up the bar, to get his 'fix' before going home. :) Main difference being, the former know full well the girls are full of &^%$ when they chat to you, whereas the latter gets an ego boost.
i spent £180 in 2 hours at the cobra club in wolverhampton
i try and avoid said establishments tbh ;)
Only times I've been are on stag-do's and I don't really see the appeal. Never had a private dance either, just seems a complete waste of cash to me.
I treat it as more of a laugh, watching some of the younger or more gullible guys taking it all in as if the girls are actually interested in them. It's quite funny to watch.

180quid in two hours? Even rocket scientist don't earn that in an Hour.;D on a more serious note, looking back on it now, do you think it is money well spent?
Overall, it kinda feel good for me personally to know that am not the only one that do not get the whole idea of strip club and lap dancing. I suppose it is a case of liking and loving it or just not getting it like someone pointed out.:)

Never been in a strip club and never had a private dance.
Stan will back me up.
I've visited a few in the UK and a few in Europe & one in Las Vegas
most of the visits were on stag nights or lads night for a birthday or something
most of the UK ones were just dancing and stripping , the European ones tended to be a little bit seedier with the dancers offering "extras"
The one in Vegas was a Spearmint Rhino and the women were stunning , touching was allowed although no showing of their foof
they're fun to visit but tbh its never been a pure sexual thing , just a few drinks with some good looking half naked women dancing about :)
Went to a dodgy stripclub whilst on holiday in Majorca as a nipper. I was only 17 and we'd all had a skinful. The girls were munters and the beer was warm & expensive. We tried to leave and the bouncer got a bit rough, it ended up in a bit of a scuffle!
The basic appeal is that you can get a woman who is far more attractive than you could pull on a night out to dance / do dirty things to you.
...and there is the exact reason I would have an issue with my partner going to one. I have issue enough with my appearance as it is without having the worry in the back of my head that my partner doesn't think I'm attractive enough. I'd like to think that when I get into my corset I'm more than enough to make his eyes pop :p
I don't see the attraction at all, but then I can't grasp what's sexy about someone who has to be paid to pretend they find you sexy. I mean someone who doesn't find you sexy trying to sex you up... eeeyyyeeew that's quite a gross thought ;D;D
I remember being out one night, a bunch of the lads including my bloke (at the time) were out somewhere else too. They all went to the strip club and spent a fortune, instead he arranged to come back with me. They tried to mock him the next day, being under the thumb and all that. Only he responded 'So you guys spent hundreds last night on women you really fancied who wouldn't want to go anywhere near you and you couldn't touch? I went home with a woman I really fancied and got the real deal all night and I didn't pay for anything' they stopped mocking him at that point ;)
Been to one in Magaluf, went twice with the lads was good, free entry, drinks where not a rip off and the women where fun to talk to, they had every type of woman you wanted, picked a slim big boobed blonde woman. :D
I think if you was going to them every week and got on first name terms I would start to worry. I wouldnt go to a seedy one, there where a couple of back street ones but we went to the one on the strip up the hill.

Wandered into a few places on the backpacker trail in Australia. Some of the 'clubs' in Kings Cross were little more than brothels with a pole and loud (crap) music playing.
That was nothing compared to some of the mining towns out in WA. Most had bars with 'skimpy' (saucy underwear) or topless bar maids. You kind of get used to that after a while though. One came over to collect the glasses from the table and blocked my view of the football, so I just sort of leaned around her. She got right huffy and stomped off and some of the locals started glaring at me so I had to quickly apologise and tell her how nice she looked in her pants.
The only time I've been in this country was on a stag do when a dance cost £10. For which I got about 3 minutes of mild titillation and a peck on the cheek. When I think what the equivalent could have bought me on Hay St in Kalgoorlie it seems like very bad value.
In the end it's just about sampling what life has to offer for me. Can't see me ever making ahabit of it.

But that's you. There are plenty of guys out there who know that in real life they are never going to get a 21 year old stunner so paying £20 to have one dance for them is just a fantasy come to life for a few minutes.
When I was visiting them a lot I was going through a dry spell and paying £10-20 to have an attractive young lady rub her boobies in my face was well worth the money. Now I have an attractive young lady who will rub her boobies in my face free of charge whenever I want I don't feel the need to get dances when I do go to them.

I travel A LOT for work and could quite happily have multiple affairs going on in different cities if I wanted to and she realised very early on in the relationship that she could either trust me or leave me. She chose to trust me and I in turn am quite happy to sit there and enjoy the view when I do go to a strip club.
If the table was turned I really couldn't care less. If she wanted to go and watch male strippers and get dances off them I'd wave her off and tell her to have a good time because I know that it's not real. It's kind of like a more realistic version of her daydreaming about snogging Daniel Craig.
Been to one on a mate's birthday. The ladies were kind of cute and were, occasionally, dressed in footy strips. It was his idea and it would have been churlish to refuse.
Then another mate/dickhead tried to stick a bottle up a girl's anus so we had to go. Fast.

Amateur! Two of my collegues lost 2 hours and $2500 in a club in Vegas ;D
My biggest bill was £250 in Budapest. We were totally ripped off though I was just glad to get out of the place alive. Long story short that night was probably the closest I have ever come to being killed.

I can understand the attraction of much boobies but I don't get the paying for a dance malarky.
So you fork out money to a bird who gets you frustrated and isn't the least bit interested in any part of you apart from your wallet ?
I also have massive problems with the places, I hate it whenever Jamie goes to one. Porn doesn't bother me in the slighest ( infact I encourage it ;) ) but it's not real... it's on a TV/Laptop screen... it's not sitting there in front of you :/
I realise my reasons aren't logical but hey I'm a woman ;D

Good news every body. Coincidentally, there is a documentary tonight at 9pm on channel four about the hidden world of lap dancing. I think it may help this thread in some ways. I will be watching this.

That's my initial thought on the whole thing and over-powers any good I can possibly see in going, even in men I'm not dating!
Went to one in Bulgaria that is situated not far from our flat :D and yes, they offered other services apart from just lap dancing. Was quite weird to be getting a lap dance and have the young lady whisper in my ear "Would you like to have sex?"

Went to one on a Cardiff stag do, one of the girls was absolutely stunning, she was on the series of UK's next top model a couple of months after, and came 4th.
Thats the only time i had a lapdance, think it was about £30, and id not spend it again, it was rubbish.
Anyone watch the programme then? All in all it shows that lap dancing is nothing more than a cover for prostitution in the UK. I believe there is a channel 4's equivalent to the iplayer. Anyone keen on it can check it out.

I'd say that's a bit of a strong conclusion to come to. All it showed me was that of the 3 places they showed, it was possible to get more than a dance. How many clubs did they go to where nothing extra was offered?

Im pretty sure it would be selective journalism, theres one in my local town that i go into now and again as the beer is cheap and the naked ladies dont hurt, ive never had a dance in it and wouldnt either.
Ive never had the impression they offer anything other than dances, same as the one i was in at Cardiff. Heck, even the one i went to in Amsterdam didnt offer anything like that.

To be honest, I really do not know.:) But yeah I see what you and MM are trying to say.
It was very very much selective journalism. They wanted a sensationalist program and made sure they got one.
Of course there are going to be girls who offer more than a lap dance, that's a given. I can guarantee they didn't show the vast majority of their findings and concentrated on the outrageous stuff as otherwise the show would have been very dull indeed.
I know a lot of girls who work in clubs and they don't do half of what that program showed because they don't need to. There are also very strict rules in some of the clubs about how close you are allowed to get and where you are allowed to touch the customer. One of my friends makes money from lapdancing where she keeps all her clothes on! She's incredibly good and has even got men to pay for 2 dances even though they know she's not going to take a stitch off!

I paid for one, it was excellent too. The girl was smoking hot dressed up in an outfit, losing her clothes to the music, eventually gyrating on me fully naked.
It's just different, that's all.
All in all it shows that lap dancing is nothing more than a cover for prostitution in the UK.

Any one of the ones i've been to, if you tried propositioning the dancers the bouncers would have you out the back for a hiding before you could even try and deny it.

I'm not going to bother watching it, no point if theres no bush on show :(
seriously though, if you really want to find out what its like instead of relying on a tv program then go and visit one with a friend or two, go to a decent upmarket place - if you don't enjoy it then don't stay but at least you will be able to form your own opinion
by the sounds of it the tv show focused on the seedier places
the only ones I have visited that offered extras was in Prague

Never had a lap dance or been to a strip club. I think I was put off at an early age. When my parents split up when I was a seven, I used to spend the weekends up at my Dads pub and every Sunday afternoon there was always a few strippers on. All the local alkies laring and goading each other on to some 20 odd year old girl if that.
I think the icing on the cake was when I was about 20, it was a "Gentlemen's Evening" in a social club he was looking after. The idea being, everyone pays £10.00 to get in to see the show and there are 3 strippers on all night. At the end of the night, some of the lads had a whip round and a couple of the audience ended up going up on stage taking it in turn to get jiggy with the stripper. it was just so seedy it kind of put me off. No doubt that wasn't the first time she had done it and the poor girl was probably doing her best to makes end meet

That is disgusting.
Disgusting it may be, it's very common at these "Gentlemens Evenings". I went to one at a local rugby club a few years ago where they had a comedian, strippers and chicken in a basket. The strippers were average looking girls and they did get some guys on stage who were much the worse for alcohol and shagged them. Or at least tried, I think a couple of the guys couldn't get it up and although one managed it, it just got very boring as the tart bounced up and down on him. I don't think I'll be going to another.
I heard that the girls were giving blow jobs out the back for a tenner apiece afterwards. Erm, no thanks.
That is disgusting.
certainly not my idea of fun
a guy I know went to a strippers night in a pub around 15 yrs ago and half way through the act he noticed an old guy at the table next to him had his todger out and was giving it welly

Jesus :/
I'm not a prude in any way shape or form but ffs .. ewwww !

Went to a couple in Edinburghs famous Pubic Triangle a few years ago. I wasn't the one poor sod that the guys had paid cash for a dance in front of the whole bar. The strippers were all very appealing facially & bodily, but once the dance was over, the poor sod seated by the pole gets de-bagged & basically a cake is made in his man parts. Flour, eggs, water, & more flour. What makes it worse at this particular bar is that there are NO cubicles in the mens room to wash up, so early night unless you fancy bouncing around for a few hours with raw cake mix in your kegs.
One in Bolton had a stripper that looked like Peter Crouch in a burberry bikini so I thought this should be a laugh. Cost a tenner, £9.99 too much! She was frickin useless at dancin, smilin, chattin, living!
Waste of money in long run, but after a few drinks on a big night out, a tenner is nothing huge.

I know.
They could get some plates at least.

If these men are in relationships, why do they think thats acceptable

I don't know if I am honest. From my experience looking on the outside in, I guess a lot of it is male bravado fueld with alcohol. From what I have seen it is usually someone's B'Day or stag do or something like that. Maybe some of them aren't in relationships and they see it just as a bit of fun.
:(
I fail in understanding any of this. Male bravado and alcohol as an excuse? Surely not? How is being shagged senseless on stage infront of everyone, probably causing them to get some form of STD manly?
Any man in a relationship/due to get married etc at these things and that get involved in that way deserve to have their testiballs chopped off.

I've been to a couple of lapdancing places - one in Newcastle and one in Aberdeen.
The Aberdeen one was a slightly seedy place. There were no private cubicles for dances, it was all done in the open. I had a couple of dances and one of the girls pulled her knickers to the side and masturbated in front of me. Dodgy sort of place and I doubt if I'll be going back. I only went there because I was out drinking with one of my work colleagues and he insisted it was a great place - but then, he's a seedy sort of guy so I should have expected it.
The place I went to in Newcastle (where Von didn't participate in any way :D) was much more refined. The girls actually made an effort to have some sort of conversation with you before asking if you wanted a dance. I had a few of them chat to me but refused dances because I wasn't ready yet so they smiled and moved on to the next guy.
Eventually a nice girl came to chat and seemed to be genuinely interested in the fact that I worked on the rigs (she said her uncle worked offshore for years). I don't know whether she was genuinely interested or not but it was much more pleasant than the Aberdeen place.
Eventually she asked if I wanted a dance and I agreed so we went to a private area and she danced. She got her baps out but no foof and I have to say I found her dance much more erotic than the wide open flange girls in Aberdeen. I ended up getting 2 dances after which I handed over the cash and thanked her and told her she was lovely. Then went back to my seat, had a beer and watched the stage show for a bit whilst chatting to my companions.
I think the classier places like the Newcastle one are perfectly fine and good entertainment. The seedier places like the one in Aberdeen are not worth visiting in my opinion. I was never offered any 'extras' in Aberdeen but it struck me as being the sort of place that would turn a blind eye to that sort of transaction.
Stan, you just perfectly illustrated the big difference between the places where they follow the rules and the places they don't.

I don't have a problem with the concept of it though I have been somewhat put off by it. I don't know, I went to my first one years ago as a fresher and I guess at the back of my mind I expected some random girl to do her stuff and I'd never see her again (sort of..the point of it). However got talking to her and found out she was in my year. I'm not entirely sure why I've not been since, but I now just don't see the point, since I can get a lot "more" by spending a lot less...
