Good Old Games (http://www.gog.com/en/intro)

Just in case you may have missed a classic PC game from a few years ago. I signed up to the Beta this morning and got access to the front end. The premise is you can buy some old games that are either discontinued or abandonware for a small fee and it's all DRM free. Best of all, if you run Vista then they have been tested and guaranteed to run flawlessley. I have been listening to some gaming podcasts and the feedback has been nothing short of spectacular. Download speeds are pretty fast and the support is responsive and knowledegable.

Games are priced around between $2.99 - $10.00. Some of the games include Colin MCrae 2005, Fallout Series, MDK and they claim to have a load more titles coming such as Baldurs Gate and Diablo series. The plus side for me is that it's a direct download link for games so there is no resource hogging browser like Game Spy.

As it's still in Beta they must have some kind of IP check to log into the "Your Account" Section as I can't access it from work. I'll report further once I have downloaded a few old time classics. Great for installing on the lappy for when your working away :)

Been a member for a few weeks now I suppose. Currently playing my way through Freespace 2

The service rocks as far as I am concerned. Cheap prices and the games work on XP and Vista. Manuals and other useful things are also available to download.

All it needs is a few more games. :D

If they put Thief on there I may be tempted to dust my PC off again. It doesn't run well on modern PCs IIRC. Hmm, they do have Kingpin though...

Oh Thief... now that would be oh so a dealbreaker!

I've still got Kingpin somewhere, always kept it as I meant to go back one day and finish it, still never got round to it yet.

Bloody good game that was. Completed it twice and then monkeyed about with the mission editor for a good 6 months after that.

I might be tempted by Fallout 2 again as I have Fallout 3 on pre-order.

Something like Archamedes Dynasty I'd be interested in. Or Azraels Tear.
Or a non-bugged version of Privateer 2. That one crashed so often I gave up despite it being ace.

Privateer 2 was ace. Immense game.

I miss the old Wing Commander games too - got 1-4 kicking around somewhere, no idea if they'd run though, and it wouldnt be the same without a joystick.

I actually own Privateer 2 (isn't the one with Clive Owen in it?)
