I really like how the game keeps track of things like Seriously 2.0 and other achievements that involve doing something a number of times. Makes you feel like you're gradually getting somewhere :D
Admittedly I'm only at 500 odd with Seriously 2.0 after half way through the game, but it's nice to see anyhow.

Yeah it is good, it's just like the way TF2 tracks them.

Yep. Orange Box does it brilliantly, and GRAW2 did a good job too (you could check them out in the options), but Gears is so far the best blend.

Great game and quite possibly better than the first.

The art direction is superb, I don't want to mention specifics for fear of spoilers but the game is beautiful. Up to the end of act four and loving every minute of it!

I've completed it on Hardcore and only missed 8 pickups, 5 of which were before I knew there were pickups!

I also found it almost 3 times the length of the first one and this one actually had a story from start to end and had me gagging to keep playing. Brilliant game and amazing to think I wasn't let down.

Playing local multiplayer with my dad dagnabit :p

Playing solo whilst waiting for a slot to free up in someones MP game. Having read around I reckon the game has glitched as I'ven driven all round that cave and nothing has happened :/

I'm finding it enjoyable in co-op but I doubt i'd even have finished it on my own. It's not gripping me. It looks nice and although it's longer I'm feeling that some levels are just too long doing the same thing.

I think we have just finished act5 and so far I prefer gears 1 as a single player/co-op game.

The levels just don't have the variation that despite being shorter gears 1 had. It's a good purchase but unless your going to play a good bit of MP I wouldn't call it a must have title.

For me they have held back too much story as well. Kinda like lost series 2 when even the writers don't seem to know yet where they are taking the story ;)

I thought they gave more story out, certainly a completely joined one at least. I also thought the levels in Gears 2 were larger, more varied and more open to navigation.

I think where Gears 2 isn't shining is in its 'wow' factor, it does look better than Gears of War, however when GoW was released it was leagues ahead of anything at that time, that isn't the case now.

I would still rate Gears of War 2 as one of the 3 strongest games released this year though.

From reading around on gamefaqs it seems a Corpser should be making a cameo appearance.

You fall off a ledge, the tank has a barney when it hits the bottom and you lose all power (and lights). Marcus has a moan, when the light comes back on (should do this on it's own, Baird fixes it), you'll have 3 corpsers in front of you that need nuking.

Not sure what happened in the end but back tracking completely away from the Locust Outpost as far down the mountain as possible and coming back to the cave triggered the next bit of radio chatter to control.

Then I stayed up till 5am finishing this bad boy off :D (Normal only :p)

Well that is the game done on casual, what a let down the last level was ::/: on the whole though it was an amazing game :)

After General RAAM I was just expecting more than we got, it ended rather suddenly. It was as though they had this great idea for the last level but ran out of time.

But at the same time... Something so big, you have to use the Hammer of Dawn, and once you use that nothing is going to be hard -- it's a frickin' laser after all. RAAM wasn't hard either though, I actually completed Gears of War (again) on Insane (again) today. The real boss battle took place earlier against the Predator.

It was only hard because Dom's AI is too stupid to kill the tickers that swarm you while you're dodging falling debris and ink grenades.

Well that ending was a bit of an anti climax :(
Was good fun though although didn't feel as hard as Gears 1. Certainly made much more fun by co-oping. :D

Now to do Insane at some point.

Happened before with the Hammerburst, and also the Banjo demo - bumped the price up so people weren't getting freebies they shouldnt, or early.#

A Microsoft representative has informed Joystiq that the public availability of the Gears 2 Gold Lancer was made in error. Yesterday, we reported that the exclusive Collector's Edition weapon had appeared on the Xbox.com Marketplace for all to wield.

According to the rep, everyone who obtained the Gold Lancer from the Xbox.com Marketplace will have the item removed from their games in an upcoming fix, in order to keep the weapon exclusive to Gears 2 Collector's Edition consumers. "We're currently attempting a fix that will expire all codes that were unexpectedly released in error through Xbox LIVE Marketplace," the representative noted.

How Microsoft will remove (or possibly disable) the art asset file and differentiate between legitimate owners and those who grabbed the guns as they fell off the back of the truck is unclear. A request for clarification on how or when the fix would be implemented has gone unanswered, but we'll update you as soon as we know more.

Yup :) Quite handy as I bought the CE off work for £26.99 then sold my normal copy of Gears 2 with the map pack code for £30 :D

Many people play GOW2 online? I bought my Xbox 360 for mainly online play. I love GTA4, but there never seems to be anyone playing it online. :/

However I'm going to get GOW 2 soon, it looks impressive.

That's because Grand Theft Auto IV never made for a good online experience. It was packed when it came out, but in the last couple of months alone there has been Left 4 Dead, Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty 5 all of which have high numbers as well as some older games such as Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.

Cheers! Don't know what game to get next... Might get Halo 3, it seems to be pretty popular.

I'm currently playing through Saints Row 2 and I'm somewhat unimpressed by it. Maybe it's because I've played GTA4.

Thing is, GTA4 has great graphics and great realism and lacks the amount of content SR2 has. SR2's graphics aren't exactly good and as far as realism... Well their isn't really any lol.

It would be brilliant if you could chuck SR2's content into GTA4.

Same here. Great game but the MP isn't as good as COD4 so no need to keep it after doing the campaign on insane.

Bumpage ahead of the big expansion release coming up - Morrisons have GoW2 for £14.99, which isn't a bad price if you traded it quickly like I did. Looking forward to some more Hordeage and some additional campaign action!

There's some score whoring to be done as well if you splash out on all the maps - lots of the achievements can be gotten in private matches (play on all maps from x pack, win on all maps from x pack, reach wave x on horde).

I bought some points today but they promptly went onto getting the last 2 DLC's for Fallout 3 else I would have bought the new map pack. If my friend is interested in buying it then I will pick it up. I'll ask him tonight :).
