What is it?

I just had one with Walkers Sweet Chilli Sensations, Nando's Piri Piri Hot Sauce, and ham... washed down with a can of Red Bull. YUM

I have 2 favs but they're classics - chicken mayo with crispy bacon or smoked cheese, ham and sweet tomato relish :o

In all seriousness, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and a fried egg in a big, soft white bap does take some beating.

Had that exact bap for brekkie

Bacon and Brie, or if i'm not feeling in a bacon mood, then chicken with garlic mayo is next best.

If im making it myself i'm not particulary fussy so its whatever is lying round in the fridge that fits on a sandwhich easy. Usualy crappy reprocessed cheap meat of some sort lettuce tomato cucumber et al.

If i'm buying the chicken and bacon/BBQ/Mexican are what i'd "choose" but again i'll probably buy whats left at boots on their fantabulous meal deal which you CANNOT beat! :D

Crusty bread, cream cheese instead of butter/margarine, and thick slices of cheddar cheese and sweet apple.
Don't knock it till you've tried it :) It's a surprisingly delicious combination :D

Chicken Mayo is good, put with Onion in there it's one of the best sandwiches in the world.

Waitrose do a scrummy mozzarella and roast tomato wrap, which I treat myself to sometimes.

Generally I'll try and get cheese and tuna in a baguette.

Tomato, ready-salted crisps, mayo and black pepper on white bread with Sharwoods Chilli Sauce to dip into.

I also like mushroom toasties and just ordinary salad on white bread with a bit of Heinz salad cream :)

I was working at a client site recently and the salad sandwich worked out at just 50p - every penny counts, etc. :)

I can not, ever, beat a spicy italian from subway, with extra onions, mayonaise, some jalepenos and have it toasted.

I've tried (in vain) to recreate the awesomeness at home but it never comes out right :(

- Corned beef and Branston.
- M&S New York Deli pastrami with sauerkraut, cheese and mustard mayo.
- Christmas leftover special: turkey, stuffing and cranberry.
- Brie, bacon and cranberry baguette.

And don't forget, it it goes with cheese you can stick it in a Breville which I actually prefer to a toasted panini (usually over-priced anyway).

When I ate meat my favourite sandwich was black pudding, ketchup and Colmans English mustard. Other than that, it would have to be just plain, good quality bacon on toast with Lurpak butter.

If I'm making at home, I love just plain red cheese and onion or Ham and mustard. If I'm feeling like treating myself I will make a toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and pastrami or some sort of salami. NOM!

Toasted onion bagels rock :D

Phew, glad I'm just having breakfast or I'd be making myself a sandwich. So many lovely flavours.

At the moment, I always go for Egg & Watercress on wholemeal bread, but I have different fads. I also like: avocado & bacon, egg & bacon, chicken & stuffing, brie & bacon toastie, roast beef & horseradish etc. all on nice crusty bread. At home, I usually make ham, cheese, olive, sundried tomato and basil toasties on my Bretville. Mmmm!!

Brie and bacon is probably my favourite but I'm very partial to a salt beef on rye from Katz Deli when I'm in NYC.

I love Brevilles and I'm sure they could be "massive" again (do they still say "massive"?). They need to get rid of those bloody awful panini machines and get back to good old British basics :D

I call it a stevie special... seriously...

For breakfast

White muffin, toasted lightly and on one side a thin slice of mexican chilli cheese melted.
Add 2 slices of thick cut smoked bacon and a poached egg (yoke still very runny).
Add a smidgen of ketchup and a dash of tobasco.

Heaven.

Grated Cheese and Lemon Curd. It's the business!!!

NokkonWud

That sounds rather horrid to be fair.
I've not had Lemon Curd in years though.

I'm tempted to make some of the sandwiches in this thread though - I would LOVE to be proven wrong.

Sorry to disappoint, but it's one of these:

A million times better than my old sandwich toaster because you don't have to spend 3 hours cleaning it afterwards and it doesn't drip cheese all over the work surface.

Agreed it's great for making toasties.

I've yet to have a bought sarnie that is as good as home made. Not so say some aren't very good, but they just don't have that certain something. Always made with fresh crusty bread from the baker... tiger, poppy seed, rosemary and potato or plain pan - it's all good.

Very strong mature cheddar (the sort that hurts) & rhubarb chutney (http://www.boat-drinks.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4582&highlight=rhubarb)
Soft cheese, home grown tomatoes & basil
Turkey, stuffing & Inverness sauce
Minute steak, gherkin & wholegrain mustard
Rare roast beef & sea salt

....and now I really want a sandwich, just as well I was at the baker this morning to get fresh bread :)

I must get one of them. I'm still making do with a £5 Tesco Sandwich toaster that really should be condemned for health reasons.

First and foremost the BLT.

Decent crispy bacon (no supermarket stringy rubbish), lettuce and tomato with nothing else.

Close behind:
Chicken & Bacon
Toasted Cheese & Onion

But a Breville is like a good Wok - only need to oil it and then never clean it again :D

Looks good actually - what is it?
