So it's out today, I got it, yay!
Means I'll have to reboot into Bootcamp but I'm really looking forward to getting home and having a blat.

I seem to remember seeing Gemma Atkinson in the videos looking rather tasty ;)

Played through the tutorials and first level last night and it looks good so far. :)
I really like the comic/cartoon feel to everything and the water looks absolutely  on PC with all the detail levels ramped up to full.
And yes, there's cleavage and heaving bosoms all over the place. :party2:

I've gone off of all RTS' since playing Supreme Commander, every other game seems cramped and restricted compared to it. If i can't zoom all the way out to view the entire battlefield these days i start to twitch. One of my mates is well into C&C games so i'm sure i'll play it over his way at some point in the future.
Hmmm, co-commander is a nice touch for doing co-op play. However not sure about it in single player, run the risk of a game being crippled due to some kid. The computer player is ok when supporting you, I think I prefer being alone on missions.
Still I use him as fodder and then use my units to clean up. Its clearly just a tweaked cnc3 engine though. I have it at 1900*1200 on full everything with no issues.
My copy arrived yesterday. Only had chance to work through the tutorials and do the first soviet mission but looks good so far :)
*drools*
I really wish I could play this, but I spent my computer money on the Jeep's tyres. :(

Not overly impressed with this at the moment. It's just not gripping me like RA and RA2 did - or even as C&C3 did
Done 4(?) missions as the soviets today and am wondering if I should start again as someone else and turn up the difficulty.
:(
What does it run like compared to CnC3?

Seems to run better. Only been running it on my laptop at the moment. My desktop is getting a clean and a new graphics card.
CnC3 always had problems on an 8600gtm, RA3 seems fine in 1600x1200 - not at the highest settings though.

What spec is your laptop?

2.2ghz C2D
256mb 8600gtm
3gb 800mhz DDR2
17" 1920x1200 screen
160gb 7200rpm drive
Essentially a big heavy bastard. :D
Anyone have the minimum required specs to run it available? I'm just wondering if Tina's laptop will run it. Toshiba Satellite L45-S4687 with a 2.5GB upgrade.
The processor would be upto the job, but it has an Intel graphics chip. I very much doubt it would run well. Do you have C&C3 as that would be a good benchmark to try with it.
If you are a hardcore C&C fan I think you'll be disappointed. I have done 4 or so missions and its aimed at "my first rts" of around 10 years plus. Very dumbed down. I will give it another go tomorrow but its not as good as C&C 3..... now that I enjoyed as the AI was brutal in its attacks.

Can I just say a Big AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!101!!!!!!101!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
So I hold off buying new games through lack of cash & scope out my games well first prior to nipping in at the right time & buying cheap
This is one game I've been looking forward to & am hanging out to buy it but every time I read about it I read negative comments :'(:'(:'(
Thought this was going to be the one but it already sounds like it has my major hang up & that's to close a view
I am Sad :(

I started playing it last night, i like it, its got a bit dollop of FUN.
Not played it at all since my first post above as I've been so busy but will get back to it. I know what Flib means about it not being as gripping as RA/RA2 - it doesn't seem to have quite the same addictiveness factor as they did.
FWIW it runs like silk at 1920x1200 with 4xAA and all the eye candy on but then I have a GTX280 :)

Played through the soviet missions *Hell - it's Tim Curry for gods sake!*
Don't think I can be bothered to play through the allied or the japan missions.
I grabbed it the other day.
It's ok, I prefer the way CnC3 played, this all seems a little bit 'silly' for my liking. It's still good fun but very easy. Plays well enough at 1680x1050 Ultra High on my 3500+/8800GS machine and you can't really ask much more than that from a performance point of view.
Its nowhere near as good as the first games, it lacks the ability to draw you into the plot. I've seen porn films with more intriguing plots/acting
Its all a bit Tonka Toy for me, I feel a little disappointed considering how much hype there was.
I hope Godfather 2 isn't this much of a let down.
Ok call me a noob but, after breezing through the first four soviet missions without any problems at all, the fifth is a total bitch. Just can't get enough resources to build anything like enough units and am getting my arse kicked repeatedly. Anyone got any tips?

Noob:D
Try setting it on easy setting first and getting Natasha to sink the ships. Use the magnetic special ability as often as it allows, you can move it around, so you might be able to get more than one ship at a time. Build a bullfrog and send natasha over the other side, you will get another bullfrog on the other side to send her back.
Use Natashas special ability is the key I think.
Lol at the ending for the allied mission. Who'd have thought the Hoff would be in a game :D
How do you move the magnetic thing, ive still not managed to make it do anything with various combinations of left and right clicking.

Im pretty sure uts a case of right click the green thing in the middle and then left click on where you want it to track to.
I love playing the Empire at the moment, its all so funny, like the engineer running and the description of the special ability.
