Stargate Atlantis in its final season. :(

Sad but tbh I'm not all that surprised. Atlantis is getting tired already with a lot of very boring story lines and is desperately trying to "be" SG-1. First we have the cast, where Shepperd = O'Neill/Mitchell (military leader), Mackay = Carter (scientist), Ronan = Teal'c (super strong warrior alien) & Tayla = Jackson (caring humanitarian)

Not content with replicating the SG-1 crew, they've seen fit to bring back all manner of people and story lines from SG-1 which just smacks of desperation to me.

Basically Atlantis has never been a patch on SG-1.

I do notice that a third SG-1 film has been approved and a first Atlantis one is likely although not certain yet.

Yeah - heard about this when it happened back in August. I must admit I never really got into Atlantis beyond S1. I do 'dip in' every now and then but that's about it. Most of that problem isn't Atlantis though - it's that I don't watch Sky One any more. Getting ready to cancel that and save myself a fair packet.

I also heard about this a while ago. Damn shame imho as this season has been brilliant. Its finest yet. Anyone who doubts that just watch the episode with Mckay when he gets ill. Just so moving. There's been some excellent episodes and I think to cancel it now is a big mistake. They're going to do a TV movie next year, which I'm sure will be good fun. Next up is Stargate Voyager. I'm really not sure how thats going to pan out. I'm going to miss Mckay though. He's brilliant.

I think its clear that they just moved things along too quickly. They had a chance with the series to start again with not being the big dogs in the galaxy. However they really messed up when the started becoming too powerful and could take out the wraith ships easily. If they had kept their big ships in Earth that would have been great, ie no uber mothership destroying weapons.

The wraith have become some kind of joke now. They seem almost half assed, the feeding on a human seems to have been toned down. He's sucking the life out of you!! scream a bit or something.


Shame as I feel if they remained as the little guys struggling with a few victories it would be a lot more interesting. Simple things like the power, they seem to have endless amounts now. I think they win too often is what I am getting at, have a few losses.

They completed flipped in my opinion.

The first 2 seasons or so they kept finding a ZPM and losing it somehow which was getting irritating. And then suddenly they advanced about 5000 with the asgard stuff and are almost untouchable.

Don't get me wrong I do enjoy it and agree with petemc here this season has had some cracking stuff overall. The two parter with the 'new aliens' was seriously good TV.

Universe is starting to sound like a bad joke though. Only one of the 6 'full-time-cast' is older than me and they're a group of people not meant to be going on a long mission which includes a girl who only only basic medical training and suddenly has to step up. I'll give it a chance but I'm not expecting much.
