It's totally rubbish!!!
He was easily one of the best all around performers. Rachel may have a powerful voice but she has the stage presence of a snail!
Who is the old fuddy duddy who constantly bangs on about his dead wife?

Daniel ! ... Surprised he's still in.
He's a nice guy and can sing but he's not a recording artist.
Gutted Austin went... I really liked him :(
I have never been one to watch these kinds of shows - the ice skating/dancing thing, the ballroom thing, or X-Factor or any of it's other counterparts. Last night I watched it for half an hour with a friend, and now I know why I don't normally bother! Anyway, the point is it appeal to lots of people, but I thought the standard of the performers was quite mediocre. The old boy, Daniel you say, was no better than you get in a karaoke bar on a Friday night!
What was the theme last week?
Just waiting for the results as missed yesterdays so watching repeats.
We do have a spoiler warning thing here :p
About time Diana starting wearing shoes.

S'ok :p :D
I think he got voted off because he kept crying... neither saviour song was particularly that good.

The p***es me right off! Totally playing on it now.
I don't watch it so I don't know how much he 'bangs on' about it but considering it was only a year ago, I couldn't blame him at all if he never shut up about it tbh. He has, presumably, lost the love of his life after all.
Forgetting about all the dramatics...he is a lame singer anyway and VERY lucky to still be there.
If, indeed this is a show about how they sing and not dancing, then it shouldn't be about their personal lives too.. but of course it is.

That I agree with :) If he's crap, then he deserves to go for crapness sake ;)

Totally ridiculous result as the best all-rounder went and they kept Rachel who is quite frankly average in the extreme. Bizarre.
There are some good voices there, but I can't see any of them having a career.
In which case he can sod off :D Pretty distasteful really if that's what he's doing. My apologises for the previous comment then, should have watched it first :p I did used to watch The X-Factor off and on but avoided it this year round.
That's really frustrating when they do that, there was one doris last year who was doing it for a dead so-and-so, I can't even remember who it was. It's fine for them to mention it at the beginning but it just grates when they mention it every single time they have an interview. You're there for your singing, not for the sympathy vote *poke*

It was that woman who 'found the audition slip' in her Grandad's belongings after he died. She annoyed me even more than Daniel has this year.

Nicky I think her name was. She had a fantastic rack though, and a decent voice ;)
I remember the chest obviously. ;D

I was shocked when Austin went tbh. He's the best male vocalist since Shane Ward a couple of years ago, and I had Austin down to be in the final against Alexandra (who is still my pick to win, anyone who can sing Whitney, Mariah, Christina and match them has an awesome voice). Still, I'd hope with his talent we'll still hear from him in the future, he's too good to simply drop out and not be heard from again.

The major real problem seems that this country doesn't fully support their winners. Will Young was poorly supported, but as a lone British vocalist did okay.
Steve Brookstein had a lovely voice, but Simon went to the US for 6 months straight after the show and didn't support him.
Shayne Ward was amazing but got little support by the label, no record pushes etc... and then given awful songs.
Girls Aloud got a great push, All-Saints and Spice Girls weren't around, Atomic Kitten were poor and GA had 5 very attractive girls and a good release song, on the flip side, One True Voice got no support.
We've not heard anything of Leon either, fair enough it took a year to hear back about Leona's first song, but she was seldom out of the media push, she worked with the top producers on both sides of the Atlantic and when her song was unveiled it was a major event for both Perez Hilton (US) and Radio 1 (UK), Leon's song just appeared on the radio.
Now if we cross to the American Idol winners we've had Kelly Clarkson who was massively pushed and did well, Fantasia did well in black America due to her style of music (Diana DeGarmo should have won :(), Carrie Underwood has won awards for Country every single year and has been a mega star and recently we've had Jordin Sparks who was the worst AI launch yet, but her second album has been a real do'er and she's now had really big hits in the US and here.
In America only Ruben and Taylor have struggled....
... Now writing that all down it appears to me that the worst thing that could happen is for the winner to be Male as they quite simply don't get the support of the girls.
As for this year in X-Factor, some good voices, notably Alexandra, but could she compete against Leona? I don't think so, firstly Alexandra lacks subtelty in her voice, something Leona excels at, she also has a habbit of shouting and going flat on big notes. She will be great given time, but she's already outclassed by a better singer in the same area should she win.
Diana outside of X-Factor would likely have done well, but she needs to stop being over the top with her Cranberries stylised singing, it's becoming annoying and Laura would have been a sensation had she hit the charts before Duffy last year. For those 2 it would have been better to not be on X-Factor, sadly for me it's a competition between those 2 and Alexandra for winner now (poor Cheryl).
The annoying side of this years show is that Eioghan, JLS and Daniel are utter tosh and the supporting cast aren't much better bar Ruth who could be a surprise package, but already being in the lower 2 once casts doubts.
X-Factor needs a radical re-think, they need to allow bands in, instrument players (they are allowed to play piano, why not allow groups playing their own instruments and songs?) This show only confirms my suspicions that Simon Cowell is so out of sync with the music market as he was duped many times by the most recent winner David Cook into thinking his rip-off covers were of his own creation - many of which Simon had never heard of.

I agree with you... she's good but needs to lay off that a bit - think Chris Moyles mentioned it this morning.

Well, there's no such thing as bad publicity as they say (though it didn't do Peter Sutcliff much good), the last person Moyles slagged off was Nicola Roberts and Girls Aloud's next song went to number 1 ;).
hmm.. GA... was trying to find their audition tapes the other day and realised how different it is now!
Louis, Geri Halliwell and Pete Waterman are the ones responsible!

I'm backing Daniel to win. It's become farcical that he's still in, so I've gone past disbelief and I'm embracing his rubbishness.
See Austin... Going against the grain a bit here... I thought he had a good stage voice and not so much a pop singer voice :/ To me there wasn't much sparkle there - I neither loved him nor hated him... he was just there.
:(
Though out of him and Rachel, he deserved to stay for sure! That Rachel needs to "take on board" the fact she's a chav and I honestly don't think she's *that* amazing at all. Don't get me wrong - she can certainly belt out a choon or two but my God when she did Dirty Diana I hid behind my cushion (though laughed heartily at the bikers gyrating dodgily!)
Daniel... as Belmit says it's just farcical he's got so far!!
Diana I think is awesome voice wise (although last week I thought it was slightly over done). Laura too is ace. And JLS - they've grown on me quite a lot which is saying something for me to like a boy band!! I like their... kind of big band styley they put on :)
Don't know who I want to win though... Huummmm.
I'm with Belmit, support Daniel just cos it's getting funny :D
Ok so I watched the Hero thing they have done on You Tube.
Austin is one of the strongest singers.. Daniel isnt on there (as far as I can see :/)
The only other thing I will say is 'Jazz Hands'
The Jazz Hands put me off Diana a bit, and some of the others too... overused.

The public from this country are stupid. Some of the past winners of shows are laughable.
Remember, Lemar, despite being the best RnB singer to possibly EVER come out of this country only came 3rd on Fame Academy behind Sinead and David 'the Sned' Sneddon. In the second series of it Alex won despite not being able to sing a single note.
That's because we go for the personality and not the talent. I agree that it should come into it a little but not as much as the voting sometimes shows.

My mate said that too, but remember, Leona beat Ray and Ray had the best personality of anyone on X-Factor.
And Ray is singing at exhibitions all over the country - I saw him in Feb at The Event Show! :D

Ray was great entertainment, but he should never have beaten Ben in the semi final. Leona was undoubtedly the best singer that year, but Ben deserved to be in the final. His version of Maggie May was awesome.

Speaking of Leona being the best singer that year, did anyone see her on the results?
Truly World Class. In fact, when you class singers like Mariah, Whitney and Celine as 'World Class' from the seniors, and even Alexandra this year you need to create a new catagory for Leona because she absolutely blows them away.
Her version of 'Run' Live is the second best I've ever heard anyone sing live, she's just phenomenal. She has so much range, so much power and her control is exceptional all over her spectrum, it's mind blowing. Her ability to hold notes as well as manipulate them on the fly is just jaw-dropping. She is mesmerizing to watch.
It's clear Alexandra is the best act this year vocally, but Leona being on is probably the worst thing that could have happened because now you can truly hear the gulf in class where Alexandra sounds so clumsy in the lower ranges and shouty in the power notes.
God she's good.
