Anyone going to a display this week?
We're taking kids tomorrow night, we've gone every year since Josh was 1.
Its a fantastic display and they have a robot man on stilts and fair with ouside disco from a boot of a car lol I think I am more excited than the kids :o :D

I am off work and going to watch Quantum of Solace and then have a curry.
Might torch a car as well.

Toast a marshmallow over it for me.
I'm buying fireworks for the garden.

I find the petrol and burning rubber give marshmallows a somewhat piquant aroma.
I'll no doubt see them from my window or driving home from work. Not overly fussed by them tbh... I'm too wrapped up in my own little world! lol!
Me and my Mum were meant to be going to our next door neighbour's for a firework party but they had to cancel :(
Saw a few last night while driving though, so I think that'll be our lot for this year!

Would this be the world you speak of Will ?

We had a fab firework display in our back garden on Saturday, lit by pyromaniacs Desmo, Leon & Kaiowas. They were fantastic and NOISY :D
Doing them yourself is different, that I don't mind so much.
I prefer the display as its a really good display and we can't afford those fireworks in our garden lol
I do like it when faysh does them in the garden though as we can have a few drinks and go in the warm straight after.

Grabbed a few from work. Ground stuff and 8 rockets :D
BOOOM! :D
(looking to grab some Mega Missiles on the 6th @ half price too :p)
I vote Mr 69 should make some fireworks this year. ;)
Going to Blackheath fireworks on sat with Rob and his bro and girlf. :)
BB x
Off to the cosham ones tonight, but they've cancelled the funfair as it "encourages bad behaviour" :/
I'm going to the gym tonight, and on Saturday Paul's coming down so we'll be in the pub! :p Yes I'm a grumpy moo.
Going to Sefton Park to see the big display with my nephew and sister. Boom weeeeeeee fizzzzzzz whoooosh kaplamo buisk flummmoppp and such. After saying the magic words in my dressing gown they take me away and set off the fireworks. Nothing really comes close to Toronto though. Big display at a beach and everyone bought their own! Very odd to see people firing roman candles at each other, but at the same time no-one was hurt and it was a great display to watch.
I'm going to the gym tonight...
Me too. See you down there in 1/2 hour? :p
Taking the girls to a big display on Friday night...half the town will be there, should be a nice evening :)

Yes. :D
Just a sprinkle of depleted Uranium and TNT for that extra sparkle.
Hmmm missed the good one in Admirals park this year :/ May head to one either in Broomfield or Danbury on Saturday :)

I was there all warmed up for you and you never appeared! :(
I was there too in my legwarmers and sweatbands, but alas no Will :(
fireworks were brilliant as usual :D Georgie covered her face up and cuddled into Faysh while Josh was shouting woo yay wow wooop wooop lol and ella was very relaxed watching them bless her :)
Unfortunately for me the fireworks here were a let down. I've seen fireworks of some of the best buildings in Liverpool so to see some in a dark field was meh. Spent half the event on IRC.
lit by pyromaniacs Desmo
...with a blow torch ;D
I'm going to Alexandra Palace on Saturday. Not only do I get to see a good fireworks display but I also get to see every other display across London and there's a German beer festival going on - Bonza! Although I'm actually more looking forward to getting back to my local to warm myself up with a hot toddy :)
Newbury's main fireworks were last Saturday. A week before I was determined to go (first time ever), as they're within walking distance of home. On the day I looked out the door. It was persisting down. I went back inside.
The event wasn't cancelled - it's run by a charity so they had no choice. Apparently 2,500 people still turned up, but that was half as many as last year.
Someone local was setting them off from their back garden last night as I could see those over the houses.

It was throwing it down. Hopefully the one at Springfield on Friday will be dry.
There were loads of people getting on the bus heading for Newbury hospital, which I thought was rather odd. I got home from Tescos and could hear someone on a tannoy (or so I thought at the time) booming out in the general direction of the hospital (wind obviously in the right direction), and as it was dry(ish) at the time I dropped my shopping (almost literally) and went to investigate.
I discovered Scratcham (a.k.a. Thatcham) fireworks. Cue turning up in trainers and squelching through a lovely muddy field. As I got there it started raining, but I thought 'sod it, I'm here already'. Anyway the fireworks were ace.
As soon as they were over I (and half the other spectators) scarpered. Just got home as it started to chuck it down.
I was tempted to head over to watch, but decided to have a cuppa instead. ;D
My girlfriend organised a big charity event at the Wedding Venue / Manor House at which she works - I must say despite horrific weather it was a great success!!
Several hundred pre-sale tickets and then many, many more at the door- in addition to some form of 'champion firework display team' there was hog roasts, barbecues, tombolas, mulled wine, local brewery/cider farm tents and a sweet company! : all proceeds going towards local schools and small scale charities :)
The rain really was horrific but everyone seemed to arrive, shrug their shoulders and just enjoy the whole evening - I certainly did (plus I got free barbecue/hog roast - hehe boyfriend priviledges ftw!), a number of cars got stuck in the muddy fields at the end of the night but in true bumpkin nature, hundreds of farmers dived on in the grubby end of the car to help everyone on their way! :)
Loved it :D
