Hi one and all-

I've had some difficulty in sending mail to a particular recipient from my hotmail account recently- every time I send the message I recieve firstly a web-master message saying :

Delivery Status Notification (Delay)‏

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.

Delivery to the following recipients has been delayed:

address @ domain . com

followed the next day by :

Delivery Status Notification (Failure)‏.

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server.

address @ domain . com

These mails did contain attachments, ~4 mb. and the second mail ~2mb yet messenger sending allowance is 10mb

If someone could advise resolution on this situation I would be most grateful.

James

Without knowing the destination domain I can't say much helpful.

If you can get at them in Hotmail (I don't know - haven't used it in years), then please could you PM me the headers from one of the automated replies. If not, just the domain in question will do so I can give the domain's MX a prod.

All information given will be deleted as soon as I've investigated.

It's a small company's private business domain- I'll send you the info as above to your PM. :)

I have forwarded the original mails to both a separate googlemail and hotmail account of my own and not had a problem at all - confusing!

Could simply be that their email server is broken, though if that were true I'd have expected them to notice before the time-out.

No sign of the PM but I'll gladly help out if you still need it. :)

Have added you to MSN Mark - catch you on there sometime soon? Thanks for the help :)

OK - I don't use MSN much these days but will be on for the next 15 minutes if you're still about.
