View Full Version : Where to sell a monitor?

I've got 2 TFTs I need to shift and doubt they'll fetch a huge amount.
Where's best to get rid of them? I'm guessing ebay but not sure if postage costs would put people off (plus I'd have to get packaging sorted).
Thought of local paper but wondering if there's any other options I hadn't thought of?

Thanks in advance :)

Erm there's a question ;D No idea :o So happy to take offers really if you're interested :)
The TFTs in question are:
Viewsonic 17" VG720
Asus 19" Widescreen VW192s

Can't remember much about them really! I know the Asus has a refresh rate of 8ms, that's about it.

If you come up with some prices I'll have a talk with some friends. I know one might be interested in the w/s monitor. Heck, wouldn't mind it myself, sadly funds aren't good at this time of year at the best of times.

I'll do some research :) Need to figure out how much postage would be too which I think is going to be pricey :/

It was £31 for one with insurance worth while to send my Dell 2405 through the post. Could be done for as little as £12 without it though - but companies really don't like sending monitors.

My mum will definitely have one or both probably, name a price for either or both that covers your hassle and makes you some money :) If you're coming anywhere near Liverpoolish area I (or most likely my dad) would be more than happy to meet halfway somewhere to save you/us bothering with postage :)

My mum is currently stuck with an old CRT for the computer since the last TFT died unexpectedly. Any TFT is an upgrade :p :D

Do you still have an account on OcUK? For Sale forums there and state pick-up only - is the only place I look at these days for 2nd-hand kit as it's always been good.

Might get a bit less money than eBay or the like but more reliable IMO.

I'll sort out a price later on. Had a quick look on ebay and it was still hard to work out a reasonable price :o
Forgot to say, both monitors have built in speakers too :)
I'm not up Liverpool way until January unfortunately otherwise that'd be handy :D

Hadn't thought of doing pick up only at OcUK so cheers for the tip Rich :)
