View Full Version : Decent cheapish hotel in Camden?
I'm looking for a decentish cheap hotel around Camden. I've looked on review sites and I dunno how these places get 7 or 8 outta 10 when all the reviews are bad. So hard to find something. PTI is a little too pricey at £115 in St Pancras.
The words cheap, decent and Camden are mutually exclusive.
Look at the Travel Lodge hotels, there's 4 of them within a few minutes walk of Kings Cross. I've used the Royal Scot, Kings Cross & Farringdon ones several times and they're fine.
They're a bit less fancy than PTI's, but they're clean and comfortable. You'll most likely need to bring your own shower gel and stuff like that though.
The Euston one would be best for you, it's on Euston Road so you'd come out of the hotel, turn right and after about 10 minutes you'd be in Camden.

I agree with Burble, Camden isn't a good place for cheap accomdation, in fact London in general isn't. My suggestion would be to have a nose at Lastminute.com and see what mystery hotels they have, they have an agreement to sell on decent hotels cheap but they don't tell you their name until you seal the deal. We got a massive hotel room in the Edwardian Radison near Green Park for under £100 a hotel with a rack rate of over £200 for a normal room and this was a monster. Then get the tube to Camden.

Travel Lodge looks good. They can't offer left luggage so you think its ok to leave my laptop in there while I'm out?
I've left my laptop in there loads of times without a problem. If you want, there's a left luggage company in Euston Station (head into the station and go to the far left corner down past the cash machines) that would look after it.
Haha of course there is. I've spent 3hrs in the waiting area just next to it. Doh.
