Yes to the question, but no, not within 2 hours from Bristol. I'm about 8 miles from Santa Pod which is apparently the best place in the UK for it.

Oooh Santa Pod - my second home
Its a bit further for you, but the Main Event http://www.santapod.co.uk/e_main.php is at the end of this month, the REAL big hitters should be out in force, if there is one event to see then this is it.... unless it rains
Unless your in Japan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v497KvWN2jU - nutters!!

On a similar note any places for Demolition derby

The UK Championship Drag Racing: 21/08/2009 - 23/08/2009 at Shakespear race way, looks like a winner. Is there much difference between the days?

That's insane. I don't think I'd like to be fighting trying to keep that much power going in a straight line in those conditions!

Depends if you want to see the whole field run, or the eliminations?
The first day everyone should get at least 1 run (so you will see all the cars) but then as the weekend progresses and people get bumped from running, the racing may get more frantic with people pushing the cars more

Put it this way - the best day for the Pod (although I know its too far - im using this as an example) when Top Fuel is on (and its a 3/4 day event) is usually the Sunday. The slower cars will have run already, the big boys would have been out on Saturday for 'test' runs - so will be turning up the wick on the Sunday to make sure they are in with a chance on the Monday....with the addition of seeing the whole field run during qualifying, win win

You should be able to get to Shakey within 2 hours. It's not Top Fuel racing like at Santa Pod but it's pretty close

Hotrod Drags and Nostalgia Nationals are the ones to go to if you want to see old style racing.
