Ahoy hoy!
I'm after a pair of speakers to plug into my macbook for when it's sat on the desk (which is near enough 100% of the time now due to battery issues) Now the musician in me wants to buy a pair of monitors and an amp of some form, but the simpler side of me wants to just buy a 2.0 set that will plug into the jack socket and have a volume knob on them. Can anyone advise on the simpler side of things what I could get? I have no idea whats good or not in the world of small speakers ![]() Budget of around £50-60 for a small set of speakers. Thanks guys ![]()

I've heard very good things about the creative gigaworks range
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=22&subcat=719 I imagine you can probably find them cheaper elsewhere, i just find the ocuk website really easy to navigate ![]() [EDIT] The core components of the speaker are actually manufactured by Cambridge Soundworks iirc, not creative.

I always use OcUK as a base for prices as you can usually find it cheaper, and because their site is very easy to navigate

The Logitech Z-4s are good for around £45 but are 2.1, not 2.0

how much space do I need to give the sub? I have a few nooks I can put it in but they're pretty enclosed

It's pretty big as PC subs go...
Speaker dimensions (H x W x D, cm): Satellites: 22.9 x 7.6 x 9.5 Subwoofer: 22.9 x 22.9 x 23.8 Plus any cables poking outwards I suppose.
