The choice of design has been made as has the location. I've had a local artist recommended but before I get in touch with him what sort of cost should I expect for a 3"x2" tatoo in 1 colour with black detailing/outline?

between 40-60 quid an hour. the time taken should depend on the complexity of the linework involved.

It cost me £100 for my forearm tattoo to be done, speaking of which, it finally gets re-coloured Friday. It also cost about £30 for the one on the top of my arm to be done and that was about 3" x 3" in 1 colour.

Depends entirely upon your artists, a cheap 'stamp them on' jobby could cost you £25-40/hour, or if you hit named and renown artists you could be looking £100+/hr... be happy with the artist, his portfolio and his attitude
