I've used Handbrake to get from MKV to AVI, all good.
Then I tried converting and burning those to DVD with XtoDVD or something and it worked, but the audio was 20 seconds behind. ![]() It took quite a while to get to that stage, so I don't fancy wasting hours each time testing different programs. Especially how so many want you to buy first, or suffer their trial version which only burns the video and not the audio. How helpful. What do others use and with how much success? ![]()

I tend to use Nero Vision (Nero 7 Premium) which does the job for me rather well

I tried that but it wouldn't accept the AVI files. It just crashed as soon as I added them. This was a *cough* copy though, might be different on a paid version?

I never had any issues with a *cough* copy of Nero 7 when I used to use that.
I got bored of all the waiting around though and just bought a DVD player that could play the files directly, far quicker and easier, plus I can fit 5 or 6 films on 1 DVD ![]()

What's a paid version
![]() I used to have crashing/hanging problems under Vista, but it runs well under W7 ![]() Pretty sure that it uses FFDShow as the decoder when converting the files so if you don't have that installed you may want to grab it and try again?

I've only used DVD Flick once or twice but it did the job and was free.
