Apple / iPod experts in here please!

Hi guys!

I found an 8Gb iPod Nano in my car this afternoon. Unfortunately, it was on the wet side of my car and so at some point it will have got damp.

I connected it to my PC and iTunes popped up with a load of music on it (all rap

) but the buttons on the iPod itself dont work. The hold button I can slide back and forth so a padlock appears and disappears at the top of the screen but the buttons dont do anything

I did the apple update thing for it and it rebooted but its now asking me to select a language (which I can't do

) and is no longer showing up on my PC.

I obviously don't have a receipt for this but I would quite like to have a working, completely free 8Gb Nano if for no other reason than it would be saleable

What should I do / say to try and get Apple to repair it for me FOC? Is this doable?
