Default "The Avengers"

Is on it's way. Not so much news I guess after the post-credits scene on Iron Man, and the pre-credits scene with General 'Thunder' Ross in The Incredible Hulk.

So far confirmed, Robert Downy Jr, Don Cheadle (as Rhodey) and Jon Favreau. According to Marvel, the Avengers will be made of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk and more.

So.. The Hulk is probably stitched up as Edward Norton (though I can't find anything confirming that, I just doubt having set him up in the last film that they'll choose someone else), and Iron Man is set.. so who will they pick for Captain America and Thor?

Steve Rodgers (Captain America) is tall, extremely muscly and shortish blond hair, and naturally about as American as you can get. Age would probably be early 30s I guess. Can't think of any main stream actors that fit into that category.

Thor, tall, extremely muscly, shoulder length blond hair. Norwegian I guess, but not necessarily so. Again can't think of anyone appropriate

Anyone got any bets for the roles?

You won't like it there are a few names in the running for Thor and the one which seems to come up most often is not tall or particularly bulky or Norwegian or expected and its ......... Brad Pit

:/

There was a reference to Triple H, which might be okay provided they can avoid doing wrestling moves like half the movies featuring wrestlers seem to feel the need for.

Triple H? I'd prefer Brad Pit tbh. Really looking forward to the film though. Loved Iron Man and really enjoyed Hulk. I like that they're hinting at it so that by the time the film comes out you'll know the characters and they won't have to do too much back story. They can get right to the action.

The Rock will probably get one of the roles, every time someone needs someone big and muscly he comes up and at least he can act.

Tyler Mane aka Sabretooth from X-Men for Thor, or perhaps Sven-Ole Thorsen.
