That's true if its a March kickoff again for the series. I still refuse to believe that the grinder won't come out at some point
![]() I don't know where you got it from, but if it is easier than a 1.5..... keep your eyes peeled for one for me ![]() |

I think 190 is with engine from a later Corolla. Not quite sure what the MR2 engine gives with a pulley but suffice to say I'll be tinkering to see what I can get out of it.
Short term bodge option may involve cutting a hole in the std engine lid for the IC. I'll also be looking into using a Celica chargecooler rather than the std IC which may negate the need to cut holes. Suspension wise I was looking at getting a set of these in conjunction with the koni adjustables I've already got in the garage plus whiteline adjustable ARBs and generally freshening up ball joints, linkages etc then using all my new found adjustablilty to get the geometry sorted (At the moment I've no idea where anything is pointing but it's probably not right) |

Went to Loughborough on Sunday to pick this beast up: ![]() It was rather a good price and a fairly simple job to do. Well, I say simple. ![]() All these bits have to somehow also be attached to said engine!!! Looks complicated to me and Phil is feeling a bit daunted but we have plenty of books and expertise to help us! This will be our Winter project, along with bodywork and suspension. Once we have the supercharged engine in, we will be in a different class in the series, competing against cars such as the Starlet. However as Phil is currently beating most of the entries in this class already, with our current engine, he should still be competitive. He is hoping that the new engine will also get him higher up the overall rankings. I’m just hoping I wont be last ![]()

I'll have a word with an ex colleague about suspension.
He may be able to find something in the stores that needs scrapping. ![]()

Shall I just drop the car off and leave them to it?

I wouldn't. I know how many cars they break.

Excellent, I'm surprised you managed to fit it in the garage

He tidied the garage specially
![]() I can identify an alternator, a loom, an ECU, an air filter and an intercooler from the pic. The rest is just random tubes :/

![]() Quote:
Theres: MAF Meter with air filter attached Loom Starter motor Distributor 2 Fuel rails (One with injector attached, one with the fuel pressure regulator) Coil ECU IC VSV Some pipework including a nasty looking home made thing which won't be going near the car. NA box is usable although factory SCs have a slightly beefier and heavier one. I'll stick with the NA one for now and might upgrade somewhere down the line if needed. |
