Default The Queen.

Well she came to my town today to open up cheshire homes.
Well thing is I feel rather guilty cos my kids could have met her as my brother works there but I didn't think Josh would understand so I didn't get name on the list.
He went with his school and so he did get to see her and he was really excited and meh I just feel like the worst mum ever now.
I didn't drag my daughters in to town to see her either as its cold and they both have bad coughs and meh feel even more guilty.
such a bad mum today but my daughters are far too young to know who she is and would have only like the police, flags and horses around and they see police horses around anyway so do you think it matters? do you think I'll have them telling me I am nasty when they are older? lol.

Have any of you met the queen? I could have shaken her hand and spoken to her but I just couldn't be bothered tbh.
I've seen her on the telly every xmas since I was born so thats enough for me methinks.

To be perfectly honest I think it's a load of ****. I have no time for the royal family. Have no idea what all the fuss is about, it's totally unneeded!

lol Why do you think I didn't go
My view is the same too but to kids its different I think eh?
I know that if I took my girls into town they would have only been interested in the flags and the police horses thats it.
They see the police horses often so no point dragging them out in the cold just for them.

Agreed. But that's no doubt my French blood seeping through.

Currently I agree with you.

However... Prince Charles is looking to be a proactive monarch who will break with tradition and actually voice his opinion (this hasn't been done since the 17th centuary)!

I have no interest in the royal family at the moment, but should its members become politically active (as in more than having tea and crumpets with the ineffective PM) then I will have more respect and interest

/me looks forward to a monarch with balls

It's only the Queen. Never understood the fascination in the Royal Family myself.

I haven't, and would love to. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have the opposite feeling to most people here.

I think I'm with you My Bro got to meet the Queen when she visited his work place (Royal Institute). Apparently Philip was really chatty to him about his work and seemed genuinely interested.

I'm really proud of my Brother and was glad his work was recognised and of interest

Though. I dared him to wear a cowboy hat when he met her and offered £100!! He said no (thank Lordy too as I don't have £100 )

I'd be proud too. I think the cowboy hat would have gone down a treat!

They don't even think that though as they are only tiny really eh?
They are both under 3 baby would have most likely only be snoring and well Georgina would have only been moaning about getting out of the pushchair and that would not happen in a crowd of people lol.
I just feel bad for Josh as he was so excited and he could have met her properly rather than waving a flag at her going up the high street in her car.
He is ok he just said oh mummy thats not fair. I explained to him that it was nicer for him being with all of his friends and he was ok
