What was the first CD you bought?
An unusual question maybe, but strangely enough it's one I can answer with extreme accuracy.
For me it was Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms. Bought on the 11th September 1985 @ 14:58 from Parrot Records in the Harvey Centre, Harlow. It cost £8.99. I know all this because the receipt is in the case with the disc! And I didn't own a CD player (but my brother did). So what was the first CD you bought?

Now that's a classy first CD I had the misfortune to be born later, and therefore my first CD was Scatman's World by Scatman John. Ba bo bay.

Lost in the mists of time I'm afraid, but I can't fault your choice (I have that CD, though I think I got mine second hand).

Gong - Angels Egg, from a record shop with grey bags on the High street in Liverpool. The actual name of the place escapes me.

A most excellent choice
The 1st CD I ever bought was "Back in the high life" by Stevie Winwood - a gift because I didn't have a CD player either.

Mine could have been the same as Feek's - although it could also have been Michael Jackson's Thriller

Babylon Zoo "The Boy With The X-Ray Eyes".
Didn't get into Dire Straits until several years ago when I realised the album "On Every Street" which I'd had for years was actually damn good. I still rank it higher than Brothers In Arms.

Buggered if I know
I think it "might" have been Inflammable Material by Stiff Little Fingers but I can't be sure. I had the vinyl LP but when I wanted to move up to CDs, I bought the CD version. If I bought any other CDs before that, I can't remember.
