Default Aintree Grand National

Who's putting a bet on for the main race? Anyone interested?

I did want to put a placepot on for the whole day but woke up too late

I'm looking at:
Comply Or Die
Black Apalachi
Cloudy Lane
Eurotrek
For each way, although i don't know who i'll decide with just yet.

And My Will to win.

Just reading the bbc, sounds like a bit of a shock:

Quote:
As an amateur rider, Venetia Williams (trainer) broke her neck riding in the National, and had to give up a career as a jockey. What a consolation this is!
100-1 someone must have made a bit out of that.

I don't really agree with the Grand National but I'm sure my mum would've put a bet or 5 on.

How come?
Jumps are too high and the race is too long.

My family put a bet on every year. Not spoken to them so not sure if they'd won anything or not this time.

I completely agree with you - I'm firmly against the grand national and five deaths at the 2009 meeting is shocking; but when so much money is involved, any concerns about animal welfare seem to take a back seat.

Anyway, that's all I'll say - I don't want to de-rail the thread

I replied to this, I'm sure I did!

I thought Comply or Die and Cornish Sett looked incredible in the collecting ring. Didn't place any bets but if I had it would have been on one of those two.

Lovely story for Vanetia Williams! I bet there's some bookies crying into their pints tonight!
