Borough Market
www.boroughmarket.org.uk
If you are in London I highly recomend a visit to Borough Market, by night a wholesale market catering to the restaraunt trade during the day a gastro market open to the public. We popped in on our way home after meeting friends and staying overnight in London. This place is amazing with some great bakeries, organic producers and food specialists. We picked up some lovely cheeses, fresh bread, sausages and a few other bits like fresh butter. Also some very nice balsamic and olive oil and even a chasen and stand which I've wanted for a while now The Market is on the south side of the river just under London bridge and so pretty accessable if you are in town, definately one of Londons hidden gems. it is indeed great, especially that cider stall which is always there. you have to be careful though, some of it is just stupid prices for no reason.

I used to wander round there when I lived in Londinium.
P.S. What's a chasen and stand?

Bought all of my sisters' Christmas presents there once, very easy to spend a ton of cash there though! I'd say try and avoid going on Saturdays, its open Thursday and Friday too and its not quite so manic.

I go there regularly, it's amazing. Great for a brunch treat or getting some quality products you can't find in the supermarket. It's brilliant. I also thoroughly recommend it.
