Default Stamp Question

Hello

Been going through some old boxes here and found some stamped address envelopes!

Stamps are from 1999 but not franked... do you think I can use em!?

2nd class is blue like nowadays, but 1st is red.

Apparently, unused stamps are always worth their face value no matter how old they are and first class / second class stamps are always valid as first/second class.

Oooh, just found this on HMRC website:
2.2 Which stamps are valid for postage?

Valid postage stamps are unused stamps of the present monarch’s reign on which the value is:
  • £1, or a multiple of £1
  • in decimal currency; or
  • designated for 1st or 2nd class postage
Quick, use them now before the queen dies

Yeap they're like money, they don't expire if you catch my drift.

I still have some old First Class stamps from years ago that I use now, and the letters arrive at their destination without any issues.
