Default Book Series...

Been trying to find a good series since Dark Materials and Robin Hoobs was suggested to me by a friend!

... Anyone read her books?

Thoughts?

Tried the library and annoyingly they don't have her stuff in so looks like I'll be making a purchase soon!

Any other series you think are top top?

this is a great little series - quite similar in some ways to the pullman trilogy so if you liked that, I think you'll like this.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/qid=124584...rds=bartimaeus

Currently reading this guys stuff :

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_...x=matthew+shar

It's medieval mystery stuff - basically trying to solve murders (which isn't my thing) set in medieval times (which is). I'm finding them really interesting!

If you want a looky, I've got the first one - Dissolution (my boss has borrowed it but I can get it back) and I can send it over. Also have the next 2 of the series of 4 too (Dark Fire and Sovereign, so I can send them over as I've finished them.

Let me know!

Both of Trudy Canavans series are really good. The Black Magician Trilogy and The Age of Five are definately worth a read. The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer is also good too.

Another + for Trudy Canavan, "The Black Magician" was utterly absorbing. Loved it.

I've just started on "The Wheel of Time" series by Robert Jordan. Finished the first book and soon to start the second. It's really well written

You really shouldn't of done that. 10 or 12 books in the series, the storyline doesn't finish during that time and the author has since unfortunately died.
I think I gave up at book 9 when someone told me that it still wasn't finished in book 10.

I'll be another one saying that the Trudi Canavan books are great really enjoyed them.

The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb is superb (thought it was a bloke tbh)(and so does Waterstones as the poster we saw in shop the other day said that Robin was instore to sign His new book)
I haven't read the other series yet but have heard good things from people.

The final book is being written by another author who is similar to his style (and was nominated by the original author I believe), the remaining story line was already written down so all the new guy has to do is flesh it out

The Harry Dresden books by Jim Butcher are fantastic I'm currently waiting for the latest one to come out in paperback - a friend borrowed them all from me and finished them in a couple of weeks

Pheebs - you will love Mouse (he turns up in the latter half of the series)
