Gotta hand it to whoever wrote that though, they could sell snow to Eskimos. Describing charity work as social and enjoyable? Might as well say "Enjoy meeting new people? Like working outside? Then become a tramp!"

Is it just me or does anybody else question the whole concept of being paid for charity work?

They get paid significantly more than me even when I was working a graduate job last year
I'm glad I never have anything to do with them in which case. Always make sure I do my research with regards to who I donate to

Are these the people who stand in supermarket doorways rattling change cans and saying "disabled children" in a disinterested tone?

Generally I think these are the ones who stop you on the street and don't ask for money directly, they ask you to sign up to the mailing list and/or give direct debit details there and then.

It's only really the team leaders that make any money from it. It's a glorified pyramid scheme in a lot of ways.
