Orange Users - Time to cancel
Been waiting for a time to get out of your Orange contract? I have, and thanks to Wossi's thread I noticed they'd changed their T&C's meaning you can now cancel your contract.
You should receive a text where they "claim" you are eligible. But from what I've read, EVERYONE is eligible whether or not you receive this text. I tried to phone to cancel this morning but was informed I hadn't received my text yet but I should have one next week. If I don't get one by then, I'll be on the phone pushing harder to cancel. I'd do it today but I just don't have the time to fight. Good link here... http://www.bitterwallet.com/cancelli...ng-guide/15849

I've had a brief read but not sure if I will be effected. Is it for all Orange contracts, ones signed recently or old ones? I signed up for another 18 months on 6th March and was thinking of buying my way out of it as I hate the Nokia 8800 I've got and will quite likely need a proper smart phone in a couple of months.

From what i've read, I think you'd be able to cancel - you may have to give the phone back though, with it being so soon.

The impression I got from that is that anyone can cancel and it doesn't matter if it's a new contract, they can't claim the phone back.

Any contract since June has the new terms. Ergo you can't pull a fast one.

Yeah kinda expected that, bummer, Debbie can cancel though think she took a contract out at the end of may! For 2 years, with a **** phone at best, so she deserves to be able to cancel she won't really be gaining at all... Means i can make her use her iPhone now though. Off topic, but if she buys a rolling monthly o2 sim that'll work in any iPhone right? What do you have to do to reregister or reactivate iPhones, since she "found" hers and the guy hasn't got in touch to have it back...

Phoned again and still no joy. Was told everyone should have their text by the 14th. I can't be bothered to argue it out as I don't have the time so I'll wait another week and should be good to go.
