He'll be in the big red wine bottle in the sky now.

No suprise that he died from a cancer that can come from drinking.

Where did you hear it was a cancer?

He was having treatment for bowel cancer, but that's not what killed him.

I saw it on a website somewhere. Regardless the drinking did shorten his life.

Technically that's a tricky one to say conclusively but probably not the most appropriate of threads to discuss it

Indeed.

Such a shame - he was a real character, but he had disappeared from public life for a while.

I loved his honest and down to earth nature - he always told the truth, even if the food was crap, he said, "****, this isnt' very good is it?"... etc...

A wonderful man. I do enjoy the archive footage on Saturday Kitchen Live - he really was an entertaining man who in spite of not being cordon bleu or anything as pretentious as that, was just a good salt of the earth type of person who loved food and loved cooking, especially with wine

RIP my dear Keith - I'll see you in that bouillabaisse in the sky some time.

I'm sorry but until you've got the coroners report in hand you can't make assumptions like that. He was also a heavy smoker, and that too can result in heart problems, along with dozens of other factors galore, from family history, or high blood pressure, through to high levels of cholesterol, or even something as simple as lack of B vitamins..

The truth is there are so many things it could have been, it's pointless fixating on one and demonising it before any real evidence is available.
