5 3/4" headlamps
Anyone know about what types are available? I want to convert my Saab Turbo from the current look:
To the US look: The US for some unknown reason insisted on sealed beam headlights, hence the round version. The inner pair are high beam only. What I've discovered is that the locating tags on headlamps are different for if they have dip/high or just high. So what I want to know is if a high only version exists that is replacable bulb, not silly sealed beam... Ta |

My Golf has high beam only inner lights with replacable bulbs if that's what you mean? No idea on the size though

Jaguar.
Golf ones are 7" Don't get sealed beams, they're rubbish compared to halogens. SVC might have some and they do the new 'quadoptic' ones which have an improved beam pattern. Got them on my Anglia and they are superb. http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/lights_head.html Then cross reference to eBay and get them cheaper

Ooh, looks like you've got it straight away Jonny
http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/prod/halogen-lens.html That Saturnun brand is what I've got 4 of and found the inner ones don't fit... Did just find this: http://cgi.ebay.com/5-3-4-Sealed-Bea...d=p3911.c0.m14 but it has pilot lights To be honest £37 delivered isn't bad... |

The 5 3/4 ones on my Manta have 3 tabs at the back - strange that the tabs are in different places, they should be the same really :/
I have used "outers" for all 4 (each one takes a sidelight and an H4 bulb) On the "inners" only the main beam filament and sidelight are connected (you can just push in a bulb and not wire it up unless you want to) £18 a pair on Ebay I think, they are listed as Domolite or Vitesse lights.

Yeah it is wierd that 2 tab layouts were designed. The original version has one 3 pin sealed beam uinit (dip/main) and one 2 pin unit (main) each side.
Did the same conversion years ago on my second Allegro - those light housings I could just file the tabs in the right place (I thinik only 1 tab is different). On the Saab lights, the housings are much more robust and filing isn't really an option. Looks like what I need is available though so should be sortable. Found where my local auto electric place has moved to (bought the original 4 lights from them) so will try and pop in tomorrow morning Cheers peeps |

Hmm, the one linked above is NLA, tried my local place and the Stafford one. So I've ordered a pair of Durite ones at £8.something each. Hope they don't look too tacky...
