Who used to sing this?!
I was cooking and had a flashback to primary school days...
Who else used to sing this as school?

Is it wrong I can still remember nearly all the words, and I was doing the clap clap bit in my head "The apples are ripe" CLAP CLAP "The plums are red" CLAP CLAP "The broad beans are sleeping in a blankety bed!" |

You always had to whisper the line about the broad beans!

I did too. Remember one of our teachers re-writing the words to it so that we could sing to a leaving dinner lady who'd served the school for something like 25 years.
Can't remember most of it (over 20 years ago now) but I do remember for the chorus: Forget Clement Freud, you can keep all the rest, Our Mrs Freeman really is the best.

I'm so old my kids learnt this when they started school, I thought it was a charming modern song
