Lovefilm DVD & Game
£15 per month for 2 discs at a time (I assume this includes game discs?), DVD, BluRay and Games.
I'm pondering over whether this is worth it, or if I will be better off buying games, playing them and then trading them in

Do you definitely want DVDs and Blu-rays as well? Or just games?
For a mix then you can't really beat Lovefilm imo. make sure you track down any relevant voucher codes for maximum free trial time If you're after just games I'd go with one of the dedicated places like SwapGame or Boomerang. I've always had better results with getting the games I want then. SwapGame for that price you'd get 2 games out at any time. Boomerang is £13.99 for 2 games or you can pay £15.99 for the priority service which does seem to actually work too. Handy for the new releases. I'd stick with renting for a while as it does save money in the long run. I'd only buy games that you plan on playing for a long time like RPGs or multiplayer titles. Otherwise stick with renting. Trade in values plummet so fast. Oh and let me know if you go with Boomerang as I think I can recommend you and get a free month

Ah ok, that's very helpful as I didn't know there were dedicated game services.

It really depends on what/how you keep your items.
For me personally I'd never use a rental service because I like keeping movies, and I only play games in single player mode and then sell them on.
