Let's try again, new addition to Team Cutler...
Some of you may have noticed the last thread about our rescued greyhound when missing, and this is because unfortunately Susie had been discovered to not be cat friendly and we couldn't have her!
However, we picked up this silly chap on Friday and he's settling in well. His name is Owen and he's a 5 year old retired greyhound. He had his cast race in Dec 2010 so he's quite newly retired, not really used to being in a home and having cuddles etc. We were warned that greyhounds are very lazy and love to sleep but I actually can't believe how much time this dog spends zonked out on the living room rug. When we do manage to drag him out of the door, he walks ever so well on the lead. He is very house trained and cries if he needs to go pee in the night. Last night he slept through and woke me up at 7:30 to go pee, then went back to sleep! I have Easter off, to get him used to the house, and I'm going to start leaving him for short periods to get used to when I'm back at work. He's a total daddy's boy, and if he feels threatened he goes straight to Phil. The chinchillas are wary but coming to terms with the fact theres a great big animal in their room, he's not really fussed about them, he will watch them with interest. The cat is very wary and they had a chase yesterday so she's taking her time, but all things look promising.

Good luck with Owen, hope he turns out better with cats than Susie. Even if he is though as a sighthound if the cat starts running there's a fair chance he'd give chase given the opportunity - as long as you're aware hopefully it won't be an issue.

You need to teach your cat to man up a bit and wop the dog on the nose a few times. Then the chasing stops
p.s. looks like Santa's Little Helper
