Acid. Strong acid.
There's something extremely satisfying about pouring 90% sulphuric acid down a slow draining pipe. Hearing it hiss as it goes down, then anihilating everything in its path. And you can hear it bubbling away, continuing to wipe out nature some way down the drainage system under the flat. Outside smells like eggs.
Me, one. Turds, nil

I think i need some of that right now myself! Drains are slowing here and the caustic soda last week didn't really seem to impact it all too much...

It'll be just my luck that it eats something vital and springs a leak, so I'll stick with my compressed air option (though given my luck that'll just pop one of the joints instead)

Just a friendly reminder (from experience with this stuff myself), a hefty pair of rubber (chemical) gloves, full goggles (not just safety glasses) and a substantial upper outer garment are a MUST when playing with this stuff!!
I have had the acid start to react with crap in the line before the clog has cleared. The reaction tends to make quite a volume of foam, which has to expand somewhere - generally all over you!! And since this stuff is a multitude of times stronger than battery acid, it WILL start burning your skin off immediately on contact! And Johnny, you want a REALLY satisfying reaction/result? Try mixing 50/50 sulfuric and hydrochloric!!

I wouldn't recommend mixing them unless you tell people the results of inhaling the gas!

You're right. I really should put a disclaimer in my sig that says something along the lines of, "Please consider that anything said in this post could and most likely will cause serious injury or death if duplicated." For those that missed the hint Sidewinder was getting at, mixing volatile acids is a REALLY bad idea. Especially when you combine them with who knows what in a sewer drain. I have had considerable training in doing this stuff and it still catches me unawares at times. I have a convenient little scar on my left hand in the webbing between the index finger and thumb to remind me of this fact. I was extremely lucky. I am still alive and still have use of my hand...

It was like inhaling fire, but lasted a little longer. What is it you do, Darrin?

Where did you get it from?
Pedit - I need to read all replies. Can I put it some people's tea as well. The pipes from the bath/sink in the bathroom are far to shallow and clog up. Stuff from supermarkets doesn't really unblock them properly.
