Is it just me?
My baby is called Phoenix, I love her and she looks after me...
So here's the question, does anyone else refer to their Rig (without the capital she'd punish me) as a person/gender and am I just a wierdo?

Are you talking about your PC? If so then referring to it by name and capitalising makes you a weirdo, yes. Not least the calling it a 'rig' you don't drive an 18 wheeler do you? If not then you have a PC or a system, not a rig.
Actually a guy I know calls his car Phoenix but he is a bit odd anyway so I'd hardly use that as an excuse anyway.

I've often though your use of the word 'rig' is a bit odd.
To me, a rig is a wireless transceiver, no doubt it has different meanings for different people. Expect Stan to have a good meaning

I sometimes use the word to describe a PC but mostly in the DC forums "over there" as it seems to be the done thing - gets a bit confusing when talking about monitoring my rigs from the rig :undecided: As for names, mine are all named after characters from the Simpsons but this is mostly to identify them on the network and I rarely use the names otherwise - it's difficult to become attached to any one machine when you have a house full of the damn things. My PC on the network is called pookie, this is because Mic's is Garfield.
Normally it only gets to refered to by any name when its playing up and then its along the lines of "work properly you little s*** or I'll kick you" - oddly enough it does seem to work *touch wood* |
