Yay, new car! Arrrgh, power steering!
Woo finally have the Vectra, now dubbed Rocky. Had a shot in it last night for the first time and scared myself stupid, i've been without and fancy mechanical bits whilst driving for 6 months. So when i went to go round a roundabout without thinking i reverted to using the lovely muscles non-power assisted steering gives you, big mistake, i don't think i've ever seen my dad look so scared.
The thing feels like a racing car, 1.8 totally destroys 1.1 (obviously). Not used to the pedels yet, Mindy required heavy footed antics, Rocky has a clutch that would go through the floor if you breathed too hard. Feels hooge as well, was like parking a bus in works car park but i managed first time. One thing that was a real shock tonight was filling up with petrol (after i found out the hard way which side the cap was on). Put in £30 worth, and went from the light being on to half full! That amount of petrol wouldn't even go in my old car £25 filled it to the top! I miss my cd player though, Rocky only has a retro tape player and a radio. This will hopefully be sorted though, if Martin ever bothers to come up here. Hopefully get some pictures soon. |

Nice. I went from a rather ancient 1.4 Astra to a slightly newer 1.6 Focus. Scared the heck outta me for the first couple of days.
I no longer have to drive with my foot to the floor on the accelerator and wait 5 minutes to get from 60 to 70, soooo much nicer |

I have a Panasonic CD/Radio unit in my workshop. Almost new, removed from my fathers Audi when I installed his new system, if ya dont have one sorted/on its way.
