Default Play N Charge Kit question

Is it normal that when I've got a controller plugged in to the 360 to charge, the console doesn't seem to turn off properly?
Instead the lights go out on the console but the light on the controller remains and I can still hear the 360 whirring away.

Lost the manual so thought I'd check.

Yup, that's what it's meant to do. When the 360 carries on whirring it means it's still charging the controller. Everything will shut off when the controller is fully charged

Ahh that's ok then.
Wasn't sure so wanted to be extra careful. For some reason I hadn't noticed before.

The controller wont trickle charge unfortunately (I use it to charge other things when it's off), so it keeps the internal USB hub fully powered until it's completed charging

That makes sense.
I've realised why I couldn't hear it in the past, can't hear anything easily with this PC's fans going

If you'd heard the PC you'd realise how easy it would be to do
