Desert Island Discs
As swiped from over there, Desert Island Discs: http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3159208
What games would you take with you to a desert island? Also an interesting article about some developers's choices of games. Only pick ONE that you would take (So it doesn't turn into Top 5 games) but you can throw in an explanation of what you almost added. I'd rather predictably take Final Fantasy VII, my only issue with it is I'd probably be able to complete it too quickly and it might send me insane because it'd remind me of fond memories home which would suck while stuck on a desert island But hey, if you've got to go insane because of a game, it's not a bad way to go! Honourable mention to Baldur's Gate 2: I've never completed it because I always get distracted by something else, so I'd finally get it completed!

I'd be hard pressed to choose between the original Half-life and Thief. Both had me totally immersed and amazed at the storylines. Thief II was just as good.
For the sake of playing the game by the rules, I'll say Thief. Just wish they could release a version with up-to-date graphics as it's looking dated now.

Do I get satellite internet on the island? If so, PES6 on the 360 and a Live subscription.
If not, perhaps something like Oblivion which can easily take over 200 hours to finish. Or like Nutcase, Elite on an old system (C64 for me) as that game was pretty much never ending.

Sorry Davey, rules are no internet connection according to the link.
For me I'd probably pick something like NFS: Porsche Challenge, I've completed the game about 5 times by now but I still find myself picking it up for a quick race every now and again, it is just one of those games where it feels right. Honourable mention to C&C Generals (+Zero Hour if I'm allowed the expansion pack) for the replayability factor. //edit bah I spent 10 minutes thinking of the game I wanted to take and then Haly beats me to the punch about the internet connection.

It's good to see so much thought put into the decision Strangely everyone keeps suggesting games I considered myself, although I've still never got round to playing Porsche Challenge when I've always heard good things about it.

Being a relative newcomer, I'm restricted to the few games I've played.
I'd probably take Halo as it's the game I had most fun playing (will be getting Vista so I can play Halo2 when I get back home this time). Substitute would probably be Unreal II - it being the only game I've managed to complete on non-noob settings. Stan

Despite not being THAT into games, I'd probably take Civilisation 3 or 4 with me - it's a solitary game but at least it would keep me occupied It's basically the only game I play when abroad...
