Default Nursery Rhymes...

So this morning... someone mentioned oranges and apples, but I started singing the following.... :/

"Oranges and lemons" say the Bells of St. Clement's
"You owe me five farthings" say the Bells of St. Martin's
"When will you pay me?" say the Bells of Old Bailey
"When I grow rich" say the Bells of Shoreditch
"When will that be?" say the Bells of Stepney
"I do not know" say the Great Bells of Bow
"Here comes a Candle to light you to Bed
Here comes a Chopper to Chop off your Head
Chip chop chip chop - the Last Man's Dead."

Am I right in saying that Nursery Rhymes are all PC now? Anyone remember their favourite nursery rhymes? (without googling )

Having a bored day - I got into work an hour early

Baa Baa Black Sheep and Jack & Jill are about the only ones I can remember offhand, I'm not even sure if I was ever taught nursery rhymes when I was younger or maybe I just have a bad memory for that sort of thing. Oranges and Lemons was in 1984 though which is where I know it from.

I don't think that nursery rhymes will be PC now for all of them, some people have no doubt changed them but I'd imagine most people still sing them as they were originally.

Used to have a tape with loads of them on, complete with a picture book where you could follow the words. Old King Cole was a favourite ('Every fiddler had a fine fiddle, and a very fine fiddle had he' ), although I don't know if it's strictly a nursery rhyme. Humpty Dumpty - always a classic. Little Boy Blue, Sing a Song of Sixpence, Wee Willy Winky...

Can only remember one or two of them all the way through though.

You have to do the finger motions to accompany it.

Something like:
'Two <something> birdies sitting on a wall,
One named Peter, one named Paul.
Fly away Peter, fly away Paul.
Come back Peter, come back Paul.'

That can't be it can it? Bit **** if it is!

Well done Lozza!

My FAVOURITE!!! I remember...

Polly put the kettle on,
Polly put the kettle on,
Polly put the kettle on,
We all have tea.

Suki take it off again,
Suki take it off again,
Suki take it off again,

Why can't I remember a full nursery rhyme?!
