Default What lovely people live down my road

Well I have just gotten home from the hospital and some scrote in their KA has decided to block my drive with their car Walked round all the houses in the road and nobody owns up to having the car. Except one lad absolutely bricked himself when he answered the door and I asked if he had a KA (I think its his but he won't be going anywhere). Well whoever it is isn't getting away this time, this isn't the first time they have done it. So quite simply i've blocked the bugger in with my car, leaving them a note to knock when they would like to move.

My dad keeps saying to leave it and park somewhere else. Sorry but no, surely what i'm doing is not unreasonable when there are other places to park in the road?

Eak... well there's the concern that they might key your car in?!

Mebbe I'm a pessimist about people but surely antagonising the muppets isn't such a good plan in case of retaliation?

I would probably leave a note on the car asking them politely not to do it again as it's very inconvenient and rude. If it happens again leave a note saying you will get them towed!

Either that or nick a few road cones and plonk them infront of your drive when you leave! That'll might stop them!

Good on ya! We have numbnutted people like that in our street, we also have people with fully functioning driveways parking on the street which means we cant get a space on the road.

We (being my mum) ended up resorting to parking in the driveways of people that were parked on the street, they soon stopped it.

When you get a knock, give us an update

Addition:

where we also live really close to town we get some people that will sit at the end of the road in their cars until the residents leave to go to work and then they pull up and into the spaces. before you even leave the street!

From what I remember, if it's your driveway and has a dropped kerb in front of it then you have a right of access so you could call the rozzers and get them to have a word. Not sure I'd want to do that myself, but it's a possibility.

Somebody parked in front of our house - fortunately it was just a mini metro, me and a friend managed to bump it out of the way together. The look of confusion was quality when he got back to his car. He actually had the nerve to ring on my door bell to scream at me - I must have given him the most evil look in the world (I was unshaven, sweaty (I had just come back from the gym) and looking a bit ragged) as he soon decided it wasn't worth it and scarped!

As Paul says if it has a dropped curve you can get that car removed by the council or the police.

There was some debate over whether or not that was true (about the dropped kerb). I can't remember what the outcome was and I can't find the thread (t'was ages ago).

Semi Related ~ I live in a flat, the building has a private car park and we live about 5mins from the local train station. Now to the point certain people feel that they don't need to park at the station car park, maybe they can't afford it, maybe they just too stupid to find it... so a number of people park in the street or (and this what really bugs me) on the pavement at the entrance to the car park.
This then forces anyone who is trying to leave our area to walk in the road whilst the car sits on the pavement, now it's not too much of an issue for me as I'm still reasonably nimble however my girlfriend with the pushchair and our daughter is another story. I hope you can see why that bugs me....

My mind is wandering far too much tonight to make much sense.....

The owner just knocked. Young lad and his mate having just been down the local. Very very amusing as they both looked like rabbits caught in headlights. After finding out who they were visiting in the road I made it clear that I knew that they drove a 330i and a black Fiesta ST *hint hint*.

They really really promised never to do it again and could I let them out else their mum will be mad at them, bless
