Talking Airbus A380 makes its first flight

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7061164.stm

I really had to chuckle at this:

Quote:
"I have never been in anything like this in the air before in my life," said a fellow passenger, Australian Tony Elwood, who travelled in a private first-class suite with his wife Julie.
Private first class suite?

"in anything like this"

You just know they shagged!

First passenger flight, of course, but you're probably right on the shagging. If that was one of the $100,000 seats it'd be a real shame not to.

Amazing - can't wait to see more of them in the sky. Those suites look fabulous!

It'll be a while before they turn a profit on those things though. The first deliveries are so late I think airbus are losing money on every aircraft due to various penalty clauses in the contract.
Earlier this year they dropped an almost completed wing assembly in the hangar at Filton. Lost the wing and three days work while health and safety did a full investigation.

I'm sort of glad I didn't make the grade for their grad scheme now.

Still nevermind.... it's the French and Germans problem now

Amazing engines on that plane... just amazing

Very proud day We've had A380 flyovers and stuff, but to actually be carrying passengers is a significant milestone. Hopefully Airbus'll pull their fingers out now!
