I'm off to the pumpkin patch to wait for The Great Pumpkin to rise out of it.

Happy Hallowe'en/Samhain

Considering the types of "kids" around my way, I think we'll just be ignoring the doorbell tonight - I really would love to visit the states over the Hallowe'en period at some point - looks like good fun

The term "Happy" doesn't really seem to fit with Halloween??!?

We had a kids party on Saturday night.. I've just about got over it and I'm now out of the bandages following Feek's bundle antics lol .

I made a pumpkin head too and didn't injure myself

Hallowe'en:
Quote:
Modern meaning
Literally, of course, it is the eve of All Hallows - a preparation for the observance tomorrow of the Feast of All Hallows or All Saints. That feast gives the assurance that there is a state of being that stretches beyond our life here on this earth - an affirmation of the essential spiritual nature of human life. People are made for more than can be experienced over our lifetime spent in this world.

So this Christian season brings us a comforting reminder that there is a destiny designed for us humans that assures us of a continuing existence, and it's a promise endorsed by Jesus when he spoke of the many mansions that he has prepared for us. [Hallowe'en assures] us that God's love stretches far beyond death.

Samhain:
Quote:
To most modern Pagans, while death is still the central theme of the festival this does not mean it is a morbid event. For Pagans, death is not a thing to be feared. Old age is valued for its wisdom and dying is accepted as a part of life as necessary and welcome as birth.
While Pagans, like people of other faiths, always honour and show respect for their dead, this is particularly marked at Samhain. Loved ones who have recently died are remembered and their spirits often invited to join the living in the celebratory feast.
It is also a time at which those born during the past year are formally welcomed into the community.

I'll have you know, old fruit that I was braced fully on my knees and elbows with hardly any pressure on you, absorbing the kids that leaped on top of me and stopping the bundlage from seeping through

Of course, you still got the effect of any who bundled onto your head!
