Lenses in the USA
There's a few photographers here right?
My parents are off the the states in a couple of weeks to stay with friends and it seems a good idea for them to either pick a lens or two for us while they are over there - Either from a store or off the internet and delivered to the place they are staying. Can anyone recommend some good sites based in the US. I'm assuming this is going to be worth it with the $ so low against the £ at the mo. |

depending on where they are going, it may be worth going to a shop.
thats what my parents are doing at present. they will stick the lens in my fathers camera bag, flat pack the box and post that bit back. I have never been had for duty. |

Always best to go to a shop to get the lens, as if you are buying a few and fair amount of money, you can always get a few things chuck in the deal, like UV filters
. If you do a web site and they are out of stock or problem with US post they might not get the lens. As for Shops depends where is USA they are going ? I had a friend get me a lens from the USA, Unfortunately he got the wrong lens. So i had to post it back to the USA, pay the extra $'s fro the correct lens. Then they posted it to me and I got cained for Import Duty & VAT. Brought the cost off the lens ( including the P&P both ways ) more than if I brought it here in he UK, and if I went to Jessops, they is saying something.
