Dealing with users, or 'how to turn it off and back on again'.
A number of our lusers connect to our systems via company provided broadband and a VPN. It works and it works well but for some unexplained reason the routers we've provided often lose their connection to the internet. They're bog-standard Linksys jobbies which none of us in this department have had any problems with.
The fix for this is quite simple, reset the router and it reconnects. I've got fed up with talking people through doing this so today I sent out a document to all the lusers with one of our routers. Here it is. Within five minutes I received an email reply. "Feek, I thought the answer to all computer issues was turn off un plug make a coffee and reconnect . HA HA . Jonathan" How rude! My reply. "The reason I've included lots of pictures is to make it easy for salesmen to understand" He's a salesman I find it quite fun making these little guides up, I was recently asked by the MD how to make conference calls so I did this one. He told me it was "a bit diagramatical". I chuckled.

You should have used the same picture for the picking up and hanging up of the phone, complete with directional arrows!

Nah, the point was to be sure to use different pictures so it was obvious that I'd not skimped. I even re-photographed one of them because the text on the phone display was wrong!
I'm sure I can do more guides, I want to do one with my hand in pointing at something. I tried with the power plug on the router but it didn't work well.

For the hand pointing thing to work well you might want to consider getting someone to take the pictures so you can be in them

How about making a guide to making a guide? Will be less effort in the long run as once suitably trained everyone else will be able to make the rest of the guides for you.

The irony being your last guide is so much better than the crappy things that come with the phones. People can relate to that
