Recommend me an ipod skin
Have my VERY first Ipod coming on Monday yay ! An Classic 80G. So I want to get a skin before getting it out of the box. Just wondering what people use. I have a few criteria.
1 - Doesn't add too much bulk 2 - protect the screen too 3 - Don't have a belt clip at the back, I keep my mp3 players in my pocket so a clip makes it too thick. Bonus point 4 - If possible, can use the Apple universal dock with the skin on. Is that too much to ask? I don't mind whether it is silicon, or a nice leather one with a flap cover as long as it covers those criteria. p.s. No invisible shield please, i know it does protect it from scratches, it does nothing if I drop it. Add to the fact that i know i will never be able to put it on without having a gazillion air bubbles underneath it. p.p.s. Yeah Alex...i know but i can't help it. p.p.p.s. That's ipod skin, not Condoms, gimp suit or kinky gear |

^^^ Some of them cost as much as the ipod itself !!! Which defeats the point of getting a skin as you can just replace it with a new ipod. I wish I could afford it, they look Looooooooooooovely
EDIT - there are some at about £30, much better Last edited by Mondo; 02-12-2007 at 18:13. |

Whoa bumpety wumpety.
Thinking of getting a new iPod Classic 80Gb but as with Mr Mondo I'd want a case straightaway so I can just plonk le iPod into it. Thinking of buying iPod from Dixons (£140.01) so if I spend up to £25 on a case then that is about £165 in total which ain't bad considering Apple sell the 80Gb model for £159. http://www.johnlewis.com/230448868/Product.aspx - Looks quite nice but I'm not sure how much space the iPod would take up. Would like a case that can carry the iPod in my pocket without me looking like a perv walking around with a bulge in my jeans. I also like this http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObje...ses&nplm=TP829. Not entirely sure if I want a clear plasticy one or a leather one. I'm not really one to drop iPods so I might not actually need a plastic one. And the iSkin evo3 also looks cool. Got one of iSkin's evo skins for my current 40Gb iPod. So if anyone can suggest some good skins and where to get them from I'd be most grateful. |

I bought an iSkin for my old 4G 20G iPod and it's served me well. Can't use the dock with it as it's too bulky but has protected my iPod nicely.

Ah. I think the iSkin would probably be the best all-round skin. Just need to find somewhere that sells it. It works quite well on my iPod Click Wheel 40Gb.
Not too bothered about docking really. Seeing as now we don't get one with the iPod and the fact I hardly use the one I got. I'd just open the flap for the dock connector and use the docking cable with the iPod on my desk in its skin. |
