Great idea, but tbh I can't see it happening I'd love to see all the lights turned out on a crisp winter evening. Just to see the stars, and also to see that people want change. That they can speak with one voice. Its 12pm and I'm sitting here with my lights on *click*

Me too. I fully expect to see Quantel 'glowing' down the road as usual. I can usually see it from about half a mile away unless it's a really clear night. With ridiculous waste such as that, what hope do we really have?

At 9 o'clock in the morning, it's light enough not to need artificial lighting in the house anyway. I didn't bother switching off my 7 PC Folding farm for an hour
I have yet to see convincing evidence that human activity is causing global warming and until I do, I will continue to be sceptical regarding the motives of the government and everybody else cashing in on the "green revolution". It's a good idea to conserve energy to save money but, other than that, do what you like. When it is proved to me that switching stuff off really will help the planet, I'll do it - but not before.

I'm not so worried about the global warming, doesn't that little lot cost you a fortune to run?

TBH, I can't see it being long before we start to see more nuclear power stations springing up, now that the likes of China and India are starting to use more and more fossil fuels to power their massive industrial demands.
