Play and Learn - The immune system

Whilst planning my year 8 lessons this morning, I have been educating myself on the wonders of the human immune system... and I found this nifty (if difficult and repetative) game:

TO really be in awe of the immune system as much as I am, read the articles on that link too. amazing.

I managed 5+ minutes to complete the three missions... (shoddy)

It's a pretty amazing system, and as you go into it in greater depth it only gets more ...I did Immunology as a module in my pathology degree and it's an incredibly complex system that somehow works! Even an isolated aspect like the complement system is complicated enough before you get into the cell aspects of it!

Bless the Pickmeister... I heard all these "pew pew .. peeeeew pew pew pew" noises coming from upstairs for a good hour this morning! He was loving it!

And then, he struts down stairs and starts telling about how amazing the immune system is and giving me a run down of how it works! It sounded very interesting actually (nerd, I know

)

The wee diagram there looks pretty wickedy woo too Rich! Dunno for the life of me what it all means but it's impressive!

If the immune system were like dance steps, i think I would understand it better.
This game is very intriguing...I might dedicate some time to that today!:-D

OMG is that a phospholipid bilayer I see there Rich?

And are those bits in it proteins? I can't remember the name for proteins that go all the way through. I've forgotten most of my degree now

If my immune system was as good at protecting me from nasties as I was playing that game, I would have died of air poisoning upon being born.

same here. i played today and i am absolutely pathetic at it. I think this is why I get sick so much.
