Default Human nature..

.. can be quite appalling sometimes.

Getting off the train this morning and walking through Liverpool St:

Young lady has a baby in her arms has just got off the train and can't get her pram up. People would rather barge past her, looking and seeing see is in trouble rather than helping. I stopped to help to which she was grateful, which was a good feeling.

Then there is a queue at the barriers and some bloke pushes through the crowd, nearly pushing someone on to the track.

In the station, there is a queue of at least 20 -30 people queuing for their small free sample of "Optrex", yet a collection for Cancer Research goes unnoticed.. There's always some handout going on, causing chaos and I find it quite pathetic really.

*feels pathetic*

I always go for the freebies as a reward for getting a on a sardined packed smelly train every morning to the city.

*doesn't feel so pathetic as donated monies yesterday to a charity*

Phew!

^^^Agreed

I dont feel bad for not donating to charities on the streets, as I have a DD set up to pay a charity every month. Unfortunately, the street collectors dont realise this, and I look like another ignorant passer by

hey that's totally allowed. I only give occasionally and to the right charities.

The point here is the contrast where there is a large queue of free handouts. It just puts it into perpective how selfish we can be.

Grrr I hate people who can see others are struggling and just pass by.
The amount of times im trying to get the child I look afters wheelchair up/down a big step and I have to ask some random to help me when 5 or 6 others have walked on by.
I always ask people with prams if they need help because I know how it feels when its me.

And FWIW, I sponsor a child, and a dog
