My experience with three Samsung mobiles was that they weren't very robust - broken slider, cracked screen and mugged
Motorolas seem not to last for long without needing to be recharged - which may or may not be a problem to you. Personally I now favour Sony Ericssons - despite their 'off the wall' recharger and headphone connection.

Although I'd have to agree, from using my mates Samsung phones they didn't seem too great. Maybe it is just because I'm used to Nokia and Sony-Ericsson but the OS on both those brands and the general build quality (SE S500i/W580i excepted) appeared to be a lot better.

Similar experiences with Samsung here. The OS is crap, the handsets are crap, the build quality is crap.

It's a 'phone for God's sake, who cares about the OS Incidentally, the mobile I am now using is a Sony Ericsson W380 (Link) with an 8Gb M2 card in it - I like small flip 'phones.

I'm a sony erricson man here - never had a problem with my previous 5 phones (although I have found with my usage and ...well... "droppage" levels they tend to only bounce for about 9/10 months
Nonethess- Reliable, they have everything I want and are easy to use I'm currently using a K850i which is fine My girly has had a few Samsungs and like the look and use of them but I can recall at least 2 of them breaking without being particularly old or bashed about

I'm currently using a Samsung G800 and while it's quite a good phone, I still prefer my old SE K800i. The 5MP camera isn't as good as the 3MP one on the K800i (especially indoors with the flash) and the general setup (OS, if you like) isn't as good (although I think some of that may be down to me having the K800i for 18 months and getting familiar with it before changing). It's good points are that it looks nice and the screen is decent in size and in quality. I still have my K800i and, to be honest, I'm thinking about going back to it - I just think it's a better phone.

I had a Samsung last time. Didn't like the user interface very much but it was indestructible. The ringtones were a joke though. Not one sensible one
