Price of beer is always shocking in clubs, let alone spirits drinks. They've got you by the short and curlies because you can't bring your own drinks in and they sting you for everything they think they can get away with. I once did the math whilst coming back from clubbing. Metric -> Imperial conversion is tricky when drunk. "A litre of water is a pint and three quarters", the result nearly shocked me to sobriety. You can usually expect to pay something like 3 or 4 quid for a bottle of Budweiser if you're lucky.

(1000/330) * 4 = £12.12

(12.12 / 7) * 4 = £6.92 per pint!

Oh dear - only been there three months and you've already been indoctrinated.

Anyway, I almost do the 'sobriety' bit and I've noticed the same with soft drinks in some places. I wasn't paying that much attention, but I'm sure that on occasion I've been charged close on £2 for a smallish glass of lemonade. WTF is that about. :/

Yup, alocoholic drinks are bad enough, but soft drinks are downright robbery.

Especially when they openly pour it from a 2 litre bottle (price marked 99p for example) and underfill the glass, and charge £2 for half a pint. me off no end

Think it was an independent, and it shut a while back anyway. Been rebuilt into a restaurant (so probably even more expensive!!!)

Soft Drinks are the biggest profit pusher in bars. We charged 75p a pint for Pepsi where I worked, which is much cheaper than most places and our profit was still massive.

IIRC, it used to cost 4p in premix syrup for a pint of Pepsi when I worked behind the bar (mind you this was 18 years ago)

I thought I'd be polite and not make a big issue of this. The word "math" really annoys me.

Urgh.. "math" was a typo, not deliberate. And the Bud thing was just because you really don't get much choice of beers in clubs.
