Photobox - Scam?
I've been using Photobox for years. At Christmas I ordered my Wife an album which came to around £40. When I placed the order, the website asked me if I would like a £15 voucher for next time I used PB. Of course I said yes and the site was redirected to SuperDiscountshopper or something like that. My details were already filled in and I (unlike me) ticked the box and got my voucher.
However, I've since learnt that they have taken £10 pm from my visa. I don't notice last month and 2 have come one for this. £30 in all. A cookie must have copied across my card details too. Bloody cheek!

Yeah I have seen this before... they promise you a voucher for ASDA, but not until you fill out a survey and join their newsletter scheme.

I've been caught out too. The idea is you're supposed to join their shopping discount scheme (a bit like Quidco), but they hide the monthly subscription fee away in the small print. Even worse, I couldn't actually use the voucher I got.
It's not a scam, but not very far off. Stick to Quidco and their ilk that don't charge £100+ per year for the 'privilege' of 'saving' you money. |
