Spec me a digital tuning non-digital radio

As title, I've got a Lemans trip coming up and I need a radio to listen to the race commentary. Year on year I buy a cheap crappy unreliable radio there which loses tune or the batteries die too quickly, I chuck it away, forget about and repeat the next time I go.

I'm looking for a non-DAB radio with a digital tuner (rather than a manual one with a wheel) so it stays locked onto the frequency. It's got to be portable for earphones so it can go in a pocket, and it's got to take a standard 3.5mm jack so I can use my earphones.

Prefer one I can buy in a shop too, because I might be cutting it a bit fine if the delivery is unreliable.

AM or FM? FM ones are easy to pick up anywhere, Digital tuner AM ones are less common.

I got a 2gb Wharfdale one from Argos for £20, will double as a solid state memory player as I didn't have one previously

I've got one of those. They're smaller than they look. Last time I went to one of these sort of events (mid 2007), I had a different MP3/FM player and that had reception problems. They invariably use the headphones as the aerial, which isn't always ideal.

Haven't tried the Sansa yet though, so who knows. May have just been bad luck with the particular unit I was using in 2007.

I don't need the built in mp3 player because I've got an ipod.

Fair enough, to save you the run around the town, I checked the following shops...
Comet
Curry's
Argos
Dixons

The cheapest was the wharfdale at £20. Dixons and Argos have the Sansa for £30. You just can't seem to get a digital FM radio on its own

Sony do FM-only digital tuning radios (i.e. not an MP3 player aswell) but they cost a fortune.

Maybe I've misunderstood but I've got a cheap and cheerful one I bought from The Range for £1.99 or something daft.

I never use it as I've got an AM/FM one now so will gladly stick it in the post if you want it.
